I'm on my 3rd grow now and I still don't think I've got my nute schedule down for my medium, pot size, or strain. I have been using bagseed to practice until I know what I'm doing. I was hoping I could ask your opinions on how often I should water, what nute amounts I should be using, how often I should be nuting, etc.

Up to now this is what I have been doing.

Clone: In aero-cloner with pre-airated water. (Seems to work great no real problems here.)

Transplanted directly into 3gal pots filled with Promix-BX (75-85% Peat Moss,
Vermiculite,Perlite ,Dolamitic & Calcitic Limestone,Myrocorise Pro) after 3 weeks in cloner. (Roots roughly 5-6in long.) (This step usually goes fine as well but some shock takes place for a few days after transplant.)

Veg: 3 weeks in veg station. No nutes until new growth starts after transplant. (Usually 4 days to a week) After that I use 15ml Pure Blend Pro Grow and 5ml CalMag to one gallon of water (De-chlorinated, airated tap water) every day. I use this one gallon to feed 4 plants every day.

Flower: Once put into my flowering room I start using 20ml Pure Blend Pro Bloom and 5ml CalMag to one gallon water. I use one gallon of this mix for 4 plants as well as an extra gallon of water given right after because my 1k dries out my soil pretty fast..
During the last 3 weeks of flowering I use 5ml of Sweet along with one gallon of water to flush. (I assume this is like the mollasses tip just hydro-safe.)

My questions are pretty simple. Am I overfeeding? Am I overwatering? If so how much should I cut back? How often should I flush ?(Usually don't flush at any point until the end.) What pH should I aim for when I mix my nutes? Should I test the runoff? If so how?

On a side note I am in the process of curing fungal gnats. Does the insectiside I'm using affect pH? After I have cured this infestation how can I change my schedule to prevent this? (I've seen people using H202 as a preventive measure.

I really appreciate any help anyone can give me!

Here's a questionaire I filled out also. If it's not to much to ask could somone point out any errors in my grow?

SOIL:

How long has this problem been going on?

-Around 3-5 days
What STRAIN are you growing?
-Unknown clone from a friend (Rumored to be PK but I don't really believe him.)
What was the establishing technique? (seed or clone?)
- Cloned
What is the age of your plants?
-Clones taken about a month and a half ago.
How long have they been in the soil mixture they are in now?
-Close to 2 months (1 Month 2.5 Weeks roughly)
How Tall are the plants?
-They are about 45" tall although without training they would probably be close to 6.5'.
What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in?
-Flower (12/12 started 4 weeks ago, I'd say flowering for just about 2 weeks.)
What Technique are you using? (SOG, SCROG etc)
-Trying to start a perpetual harvest, have been training my initial plants that went into flower at 24" by tying them down. Idk if it'd be considered a true LST. I have also been bending them down away from the light usually carefully enough not to snap the stems but I have broken some on a few occasions.
What size pots are you using? (Include how many subjects to pot)
-1 plant per 3 gallon pot (I believe this may be an issue per how tall/big my plant has gotten.
What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?)
-Promix-BX
75-85% Peat Moss
Vermiculite
Perlite (Added small amount of Perlite to original mix.)
Dolamitic & Calcitic Limestone
Myrocorise Pro
What Nutrient's are you using?
- Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Nutrient schedule.
How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water?
- Through Veg 15ml Grow and 5ml CalMag.
-Since 12/12 induced
15ml Bloom and 5ml of CalMag for first week
20ml Bloom and 5ml of CalMag for the next two weeks.
25ml Bloom and 5ml of Calmag for the last week.
How often are you feeding?
-Every day. Last 2-3 weeks a gallon of nuted water and a gallon of airated regular water between the 3.
If flowering, when did you switch over to using Bloom nutrients?
-4 Weeks ago but have been slowly increasing.
What order are you mixing your nutrients? (example: veg nutes 1st, bloom 2nd ect)
Unknown never paid attention to this.
What is the TDS/EC/PPM of your nutrients used?
Unknown no meter.
What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"?
-Have not tested. I own a pH meter but I'm not quite sure how to do this.
What method of pH test was administered? Using Strips? pH pen?
I own an electronic pH meter.
How often are you watering?
-Every day
When was your last feeding and how often are you feeding?
-Today, every day.
What size bulb are you using?
-1k Watt /w AC hood
What is the distance to the canopy?
-6-8"
What is your RH Factor? (Relative Humidity)
~50% but does get higher at night with tent closed, have seen it go as high as 80%.
What is the canopy temperature?
-75 F with lights off 87-88 F lights on.
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include fluctuation range)
^
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.)
-None as far as ventilation. I do have a 50CFM bathroom fan available but I don't know how to install it.

I do have 3 oscilating fans in there though and the door is always open with the lights on.
Tell us about your ventilation, intake exhaust and when its running and not running ?
Is the fan blowing directly at plants?
-Yes
Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist?
- Usually the entire time the light is on but when the next day comes the soil is pretty dry.
Is your water HARD or SOFT?
-Not totally sure, I know we have a water softener, but from what I have been told the specific faucet I get it from in my basement doesn't use softener salt or something.
What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water?
-Tap
Are you using water from a water softener?
-Stated above, not sure..
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched?
-All plants are have clones taken from them the day they enter the flowering room and begin 12/12 light cycle.
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when?
-None
Are plant's infected with pest's?
-I do believe I see a fair share of nats around and even some crawling on the surface of the soil. Not sure if they are fungus nats or what. I'll leave out some strips of tape to hopefully catch one and try to identify it.

thats to much reading for me,all i can tell youis the simpleiest way isto not over water is to wait tell your soil is dry and i mean dry tell your plants start to drup. as to over feeding i feed every time i water. that can be 5 days or more in between. get a pest strip that will take care ofthose knats.

your feeding and watering WAY WAY to much everyday is OVERKILL. I water my plant once a week sometimes once every 9-10 days. I only give them nutrients every other watering. In soil flushing once every 30 days isn't a bad idea, and for you would be a GREAT idea. When using soil and feeding so much like you are it tends to create a salt build up which is very harmful for the plant. It can also lock alot of your nutrients out for the plant. You need to flush those containers and and LET THEM DRY for like 5-6 days and then water again with light nutrients working your way back up every other time. Less is more! Let them show you they need water by droopping. Your just wasting nutrients doing all that man. Get one of those faucet mount water filters and age your water before using it. You need to find out the ph of your water as well and the ph of your soil too. Also you got way to much peat moss in that soil mix. Why not go with a premade soil mix till you have everything down to a T, then you can mix and match your own soil components.

Thanks a ton guys. Got any advice for mixing nutrients and gettin the right pH? As far as I'm concerned just mix up w/e nute mix and then add drops of pH down/up after.

P.S. What pH should I aim for? How do I check my soil?(I bought a cheap soil pH meter and it reads 7 in everything, but the directions say to twist it while you take the reading, but that causes it to fluctuate a lot (B/w 3-7) but whenever I stop twisting it goes back to 7.

get yourself a ph meter, or the test drops, or both.... around 10 bux a piece....

i think the most accurate way to control PH in the soil is to control the ph of whatever is going into the soil....

get the ph drops, the real ones, not the pool ones... the ones that turn red/yellow for acid, and green/blue for alkaline. use those every time you prepare a gallon of water, or a nute-mix, to get their ph to 6.5...... then just use that....

i would like to add that you don't need to ph you're water if using molasses during flower. molasses is acid by nature, so the water can be around neutral, and the molasses will give the soil acidity.....

^^^ what he said. General hydro makes a starter kit for 17 dollars comes with ph up/down the eye dropper the test droplets and a test tube for ph testing. When you first get the kit spend some time finding out how much ph up/down to keep it with a 6.0-7.0 ph range. After youve done that its time to add you nutrients into the water then test again. Some organic nutrients like to lower ph after adding to the water so its important that you ph the water AFTER you add your nutrients. Once you get the system down you won't have to ph your water with the test kit. As for the soil meter give it 5-7 good twists let it set for about 90 seconds and that should be your reading. Hope this helped.

Okay I flushed my 3gal container with 3gal of distilled water. Made a big difference.. It's dried for almost 5 days so now I'm ready to give some nutes. I plan on giving them 1 cup each of my nute mix. 1/2 gal water mixed with 10ml bloom and 3ml calmag phd to 6.5? After this I should wait untill I see a droop in the leaves and I should feed water, then I should feed nutes after I see next droop?

Should I be using calmag every time I make nutes?
