The makers of promix hp recommend feeding between 6.0 and 6.4. Promix isn't actually soil, its a buffered hydroponic medium. That being said, i haven't noticed my plants getting mad and I've given it feed as high as 6.8 or 7.

Depends on how much carbonates are in your water. My ph sits at about 8 but only has a ppm of 120, after adding nutrients it sits at around 6.5. My plants grow great. If you consistently add water with high carbonate it will raise the ph of the medium over time. It will probably take awhile though and if you aren't reusing it it shouldn't be a problem. Nothing wrong with adding a little acid to neutralize the carbonates.
Yup yup. I live in Aurora Illinois and my city water is horrible! pH at 9.2!!! And a ppm of over 300!! I'm using Promix HP and I pH my water from 6.5-6.8! I only use Gaia greens slow release amendments! Everything is looking great so far!
