yeah, i'm thinking hortilux for my next bulb also. I've been running plantmax bulbs the whole time, they are cheap and seem to work ok.
 
Professor, I attended one of your RMCC seminars a couple years back. Learned a ton and know you are a legit grower and sincere person. Your wife was kind enough to give me a clone, but I never found out what it was, except an excellent plant and smoke. It is one of the frostiest buds I have ever grown in my life, true connoisseur caliber. I have always simply called it 'Dana'. Can you please tell me what strain this plant is? It has been eating at me forever and you could put an old soul at ease with that bit of information. People ask constantly but I have no answer for them.

Hey Professor, haven't been on here in a while.....can't find a thread on this but what Ph do you see the best results with during bloom? Maybe its my strain...I usually keep it between 5.6-5.8 @ 65F, but was curious on your thoughts.

I'm just finishing my 3rd week of flower and my plants are HUGE!

I'm using the H&G line EXACTLY as their feeding chart states and all is well. I am also using the compost tea recipe you posted as well as Cal-Mag. The plants are MORE than healthy.

I believe you use the H&G nutes . . . Do you vary from the published feeding schedule? If so, what do you do differently?

I'm running a 6 site DWC with 8 plants (i know . . . ), chiller, CO2, etc and am concerned that I dont have enough light. I'm running a Magnum XXXL 6' with 1000w Quantum ballast & Hortilux bulb. I've just ordered another Magnum & Quantum ballast and intend to use 2000w total in the last 5 weeks or so of flower. What are your thoughts on this? The buckets cover a 5x5 space and the room is about 8x8 total so my thinking is with the extra room additional lighting will allow me to spread out my buckets and allow more light to penetrate.

It doesn't really matter. You could have one giant bush in a screen of green that vegged for 2 months, taking up your light foot print, or you could run 2 clones per sq foot vegged for a few days.

Sorry for being gone, contracted mercer virus and they had me in an isolation room. Give me a couple days and I'll be back nat it. I keep my ph at 5.8 throghout.

As you so astutely noted there is a perception difference between old heads like you and me and younger people. I remember 1968 very well, how many others on RIU can say the same? Fifteen dollar and ounce weed and when people got together to smoke, everyone who had any threw their bag on the table for all to share. It was all about sharing not money. I applaud you prof for the 'fees' you charge people and your attitude for trying to share your knowledge.

In my eyes, it's all about treating people the way I would like to be treated. Being a child of the sixties, I was a teen then, I still believe in peace and love for mankind. Share the wealth, it makes the world a better place.

Edit. I forgot to ask my question. What do you consider a good source of micronutrients, specifically sulphur, zinc and iron?

Well I'll be damned, someone who actually met me and my lady. A couple questions if you don't mind. I come off pissy here I know, hard to read emotions into text, what did you think? Pissy stuck up egotist? Did I try and sell anything at the seminar? Were you a RIU that got a free ticket? Most important, did people learn? was it a no BS seminar? Any product examples?

Hindu Kush that I have been working with a very long time. Many have said it's the smoothest, nicest tasting bus they have had. Glad you enjoyed it. Oh yeah, what did you pay for it?

And, I would love to do far more seminars but hate the biz end of it. If I could just show up and teach I would be the happiest man on earth. FYI, not sure but think there were 186 people there at $250 per, I made $250 de to a money order made out in my name. Lost the damned thing so actually made zero, still working on money grubber. all in a light spirit folks

There was a time I tapped on the drums instead of growing. Many of the growers who question my intent don't understand passing the bong while Pink Floyd Echos was blasting out. It was never about money, we bought lbs of mex for $100 an lb, that equaled $10 lids (not zips) a good bag was 3 fingers, a great one was 4. They think Baba Oriely(sp?) Teen age waste land is about getting wasted when in fact it is about wasted life and purpose and earth. I could give a rats ass abot squeezing a c note from a new grower. Our generation dropped the ball, I'm trying to pick it back up. I don't want to pass the torch, I want to put the fucking thing out. Wake up folks or we will get fooled again.

Micros, I get a lot of flack from this, specially organic growers. They are all about the same, zink is zink. I use House and Garden because it accounts for those tiny changes for each week of the grow cycle. A great product, best I have used to date.

I forgot; remember Hightimes when it was a qarterly, came out on pallets with a bag strapped to the top. That was in my emerald Triangle days, when we were just figuring out that males were a bad thing. Living in a TeePee on the russian river, money? what money? hahahaha
 
Hey prof wotagwan !! Hope your garden is bringing u somethin special for over the festive period :-) ?
I dig your range of nutes i ve used a few of h+g products and there are no complaints from my garden ! I ve mainly used canna tbf but im using the 2 brands as they work well together ive found but the base nutes from canna i find better than h+g .
