Problems 1st week of flowering

I am a first time grower and am having some problems growing. I have 6 plants and using a 430W HPS. For the last couple month I have been having a problem with the tips of the leaves turning yellow, then brown, then curling and dieing. About a week I transplanted them into 1.5 gallon pots and changed the lights to 12/12. Since then they have grown like crazy and the new growth does not show signs of the curling. Should I be worried about the older leaves? I attached a few pictures but they are not the greatest. Sorry. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks alot

No worries, most of those older leaves are gonna fall off anyways towards the end when the plants use up all the goodies in em.

Thanks for your quick response. I accidentally posted this thread under "indoor growing" ( https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/145280-problems-1st-week-flowering.html ) and this other guy is saying its a burn problem from the mylar reflective sheet. I tend to believe both of you because you both have high ratings. (he only has two posts and their both to my thread) BUT are his claims valid or just some advice i should ignore. .. Also kinda random question but I started budding my plants when they were about 1.5ft tall. Roughly how big do you think they will be at the end of the budding stage?

You definitely were rootbound. Those plants are still growing! I use 7gal. pots for mine and i would suggest at least 5gal. pots for you.

Any guess on how big they will finish at? i only have like 5.5ft of height in my grow room and am worried that i need to move them somewhere with more room.

Not that it's not possible, but i doubt it's from the mylar u Keep those temps in check? Oh, and when u transplanted, did u notice shittons of roots wrapped all the way down to the bottm of the dirt? Thats because they were rootbound. U said the new growth's lookin good right? Plants will normally DOULBE and sometimes TRIPLE in size after being put into flowering, so if they were 1.5ft tall when u started them, it's safe to say they'll hit the three foot mark easy.

I constantly check my temperature and humidity levels and have just ordered a environmental control unit. In the last week the plants have already double in size to about 3ft now and thats why i became worried. I am going to try transplanting them into bigger pots as well to see how it works.

You should be just about right with the height. If it were me I would nip the top off to make sure it didn't get any taller. But that is up to you. Just curious, How long did you veg those? and how tall are they right now?

As i said earlier, this is my first grow, so i kinda screwed up in the veg. I left them in veg for like 2 months because i had a nitrogen deficiency and wanted to kinda half take care of that before i went into budding. When i started budding they were around 1.5 ft and now they are around 3ft or more.

I can't wait to see that plant bloom. If it grew that quick, then I'd expect maybe another foot of growth or so. If you top them you can stop that, then they will bush a little more. It's up to you.

Sure Shot - I will keep you updated when i harvest. What about bending the tips of plants to the side a little? will this work or will it hurt the plant? I want to try to keep the tip just to maximize harvest.

U don't top a plant this late in flowering, that's something u do ahead of time but that's a bit off subject. Alex, I was thinking the same thing about bending the tops down, it too is normally done much earlier, but in cases like urs, it may be beneficial. Now i cant say go tie them shits down right now, thats just a bit out of my realm of knowlege and sorry, i aint about to tell u to go and do somethin that i personally havent done myself. That being said, FOR NOW ur plants will be more than fine. In the meantime, maybe start another thread about bending ur flowering girls(maybe search for it first, seems i saw it on here before but u know:joint: :joint:), i know there's plenty of folks on here willing to give good advice on that subject, so find out, and shit, let me know too.
