split weight per bar on the hoods.....& filter if it must be suspended?

Yes hot air rises, lol, doesn't mean a filter standing on the floor is ineffective at removing heat/smell. Can also prop up the filter to the ceiling with some plastic milk crates or whatever you have if it makes your system "feel" better.

How about just a support pole in the middle going up and down to the top bar and the floor

Use rebar thru the poles, cheap and very strong
