Hi.

I decided to try grow dots w/ recharge on a new grow and have a plant in 5th week of flower in another tent..

I figured giving her a shot of recharge would help even though I never used b4.

But now I'm noticing discoloration in leaves as seen in photos...

I have no idea what it is or what to do...

I'm a new grower w 1 plant harvested.

This plant
2.5.2.5x5
Vivosun aero2000se
3gal fb pot
Ffof w extra perlite
Ffof trio w cal mag

Been giving about 1 -1.3gal water ph 6-6.5 every 3 days
Ppm about 1100-1300 going in
Cal mag every week
Trio every other watering.

The recharge was Givin on day with just water obv.

I fed yesterday and noticed discoloration abs this morning it looks a bit worse I think...

Plant relatively looks OK I think but since I'm new in a bit worried.

Deficiencies.jpgDeficiency Charts.jpg These are some rough charts, but you may be able to identify. I would think seeing the nute burn on the tips, you may be approaching a potassium deficiency. Pretty high PPM you have gong as well. Maybe do a flush for a day or 2 then start up with about a 60% dose versus the full amount, see what happens. New growth is where you want to judge, not older lower leaves. Take off the worst leaves, and watch any new growth after the flush.

No to flush. Top dress with fresh ffof soil. That's what the plant is used to. If you start to chase your tail this late in flower you may end up with stunted growth and underdeveloped buds. Just the top dress watered in should help.

It’s not the recharge.

week 5 of flower is about when things get wonky in many cases. i dont grow in “soil” so I’m not much help but it’s an overall nutrient issue imo. Good luck.

edit to say I thought growdots were self contained and you weren’t supposed to add additional nutes? So you have the dots in your pot + you are watering in nutes?

No I bought the dots and recharge for a brand new grow starting soon. But since I have this lady in 5th week of flower I figured it would only help her uptake the nutes better and whatever else recharge does for soil. So I gave the flowering plant 1 dose. Before that I was giving ff trio.

I'm pretty upset now bc she was doing fine and now I went ahead and messed her up by doing something that wasn't necessary. Just thought it would help if anything.... never would have thought this would happen..

No worries, that's why I said, put 1-2inches of fresh ffof soil. Is that not the medium your in? If it is, then top dress and water it in well.

Yea it is. Well I watered last night so should I wait the 2 days to dry first or do it tonight?

And why it is exactly that toy thin this will help?
If it is soaked, then give it a day. If you can put a fan down to keep air flowing around the pot. Then topdress as much fresh ffof soil as you can. 1-2 inches will help. Watering heavy with fresh soil is by far better than throwing shit at it to try to see if it works. Kinda a flush but just with what it is used to.

Aside from using the fan to help dry the root zone faster, you can also take a meat kabob holder (wooden) and around the plant poke all the way to the bottom of the pot and rotate to create a hole for air to get in helps dry soil a little quicker. After you water keep the fan down there and you should be good.

Echo - it’s not the recharge. you should get past that thought.

everyone who has grown for awhile has gone through this shit in mid-flower. Your plants aren’t going to die in a week or anything ….

Any idea of your ph?

Why do you guys say it's not the recharge? B4 using nothing was wrong...

It seems only logical that within 24 hours of using it that's when this started happening and fast.

Anyway, I don't have experience like others so I'll assume I just have no idea...

I also am blessed with severe add so I have tough time handling certain things and overreact.. like last night I defoliated like crazy bc those leaves were so disgusting to me. Thankfully she still has plenty of leaves I believe but boy did I cut a lot. Might get me in more trouble..

Ph has always been around 6.3 going in. A bit higher going out 6.5-6.9. Ppm 1200-140020241126_014146.jpg

A lot of us use recharge at higher doses without issues.

I figured since she wasn't used to it for her whioe life then introduced something new I thought that's why she reacted. Also someone said maybe she has more access to mutes and want getting all that's available in soil b4 recharge then maybe that cause he to pick up too many mutes ? Either way i admit i don't know what happened. I didn't over feed didn't over water or anything. But obviously this doesn't happen to a happy healthy plant and i like to figure things out. I hate not knowing why things happen. It drives me nuts.

When I redress w ffof I'll double check Ppm. Don't think I have ec meter.

Ty for all replies advice and any encouragement. Goes a long way

That ph should be okay. Have you ever watered to runoff?

It‘s either too much of this or not enough of that , wish it was easier to say “this is what’s wrong” but sometimes it just takes trial and error and repetition.

Remember that as a rule, nothing good happens fast. So pick an option (top dress, flush and reset, whatever), try it and see what happens. Every grow is a learning experience, whether you want it to be or not. Good luck!

I run off to test Ppm/ph. Not allot. Maybe 1 or 2 solo cups of runoff.
