Pretty certain I have nutrient lockout. What next?

I look for the runoff to be very close to the input ppm.

And I never let my garden show anywhere near 1000 ppm or 2.0 ec. I grow with .8 to 1.4 max.

The lower ppm plants above have nice flat green leaves. The higher ppm plants show more leaf stress.
So do you think I should do another flush next watering and flush until the ec is closer to 400 or 500? Or should I do that asap on those 4 yellowing out bad?

I would customize my mix for each plants situation. If the runoff is decent and not real mucky and dark yellow I would feed the Grow at 7.5 or 10ml. As buds ripen I lower it

A few healthier looking plants.

The last two need watered so I'm a little eager to see what their runoff is because they are doing alright. Alien rift 9 for some reason exploded in growth this past week but is now starting to lose a couple leaves. I believe the only difference is as of lately every other plant has had one more feeding than it because it was drinking pretty slowly.

Leaching or flushing out pots is a last resort. Not a fix all remedy. It stresses the roots and messes up the cation exchange of the soil and washes out needed nutrients with the excess salt.

I say this because if the plants are growing and just yellowing some they just need more nitrogen or maybe a little less fertilizer in general. The bloom nutes that are commonly suggested are the cause of the fading leaves.

When they are obviously salt clogged and locked out is when I leach. Otherwise I just pour a few extra cups of water in first to help melt the salts and then feed a little less to runoff.

The state of the runoff tells me more of what to do next.

Once we start chasing and flushing it tends to become a confusing cycle.

I had a calcium deficiency for a while and I was going around in circles like you feel right now until I realized it was just an old bag of soil with compromised nutrients and I was over compensating with cal mag through the next bag which caused more problems.

I finally leached and fed just a medium dose of base grow nutes and they bounced back.

It lengthens flower time though if you can get them green and going again but final yield and quality can still be excellent.

I’m up trimming 2 plants they dried at the same time. I think I have quite the buzz going from the sticky resin. The first plant had 5.9 oz of bud. A Citral x Pow33. I’m still trimming the second one. The black Widow x Blue Lemon Thai.

Hey @NugHeuser my black widow hybrid did 4.96 oz dense nugs and 2 jars of larf and bud trim.

Despite going up and down with the calcium deficiency. :-)
Sweet man, good to hear.:weed: how big were them two in comparison to my plants?
I was kind of thinking between 1 to 3 oz for the plants that I have in the 3g pots. Hard telling what the one in the 7 gal pot would yield, thing is a beast.
If I can get things back on track I think it will be a beautiful sight come week 9 or so. Day 26 now with some of the plants buds golf ball size:smile:

They were both trained to 30” x 30” x 30” aproximately. They had many big tops. One looser and huge. One dense and nuggety.

These phenos were similar to 10 or so week finishers I have grown packs of. They took 11 and 13.5.

The quality as far as frost smell taste and potency were both great. The widow cross is super frosty. I have shown it in the frostiest buds thread.

But the deficiency definitely hurt the bud structure. The dense bud plant has much smaller buds now dried out. And the other is looser than I like to see for a 70/30 or so sativa heavy hybrid.

Here they are. Leaves were already taken off during harvest. This is with a flash in my kitchen before we cut the branches for hanging.

Nice man, looking beastly. Them bottoms finished up great too, almost making me think I shouldn't have lolypopped mine lol something to try for next time.
I guess my big one isn't really getting lolypopped because for one I don't even know where to start because it's so thick and two, the lowest stuff is just about right on par with the upper stuff as far as developement goes, I blame the thin 5 finger leaf blades, better light penetration.

So the 3 plants lastnight that I flushed a bit each got 4 gallons and that took two of them down into the 400s for ppm and one was in the low 500s. Then finished them with 7.5ml of the pure blend pro grow. Hopefully the 4 gallons wont stress them too bad.

The two that were noticebly more yellow and getting pretty bad I'm hoping don't look any worse tonight or else ill probably have to flush them down to 400 to 500 ppm, what i should've done the first time.

That leaves 5 plants that haven't been leached(not including the big one, her runoff is at 700 and she seems fine so I dont plan on doing anything special with her. The two healthier looking ones, ar9 and ar5 I didn't water lastnight because they wernt drooped and and others were and I was low on water so I did the dropped ones. I'll find out tonight what the runoff ppms are for them and decide from there what to do. They seem to be doing better, maybe their runoff is more around the normal range.

Do I run a much of risk of causing these to hermie with all of this going on? Like even just having to take them to the other half of my basement to be leached? Low risk, moderate risk, high risk?

That is dependent on too many factors to guess. Good stable well bred seeds not usually. But the most common cause of nanners is nutrient stress in my opinion.

Overfeed bad some of the diesel Thai crosses I am growing and they will grow some nanners. Way overdue it maybe even balls.

No one ever talks about nutrient stress and nanners but I think that’s why so many noobs get them.

Thanks. And I don’t cut anything off my plants. I have a short height to work with so I try to bud them right down to the dirt.

Makes sense. I got some on my first grow, luckily still hardly found any seeds but I burnt the shit out of my plants last grow. Straight dark green and claws.

I have been amazed at the fact that after a few years growing the same way I have larger better yielding more potent plants and use almost half the fertilizer I used to.

They need way less than most use. I also have found it better to give lower doses each watering.

Same basic math. If my plant can take 20 ml a week without stress I would prefer to give her 10 ml every 3 days at each watering.

Allows me to lower or raise the doses as needed each watering. Lessens turn around time with fuck ups too.

MP1
This plant has problems pop up about 2 and a half weeks before the others, I suspected n tox and gave it 3 plain waters and then fed it lightly then it got thrown in the mix when I leached 9 the other night. It was probably my yellowest plant but seems to be greening up now. Some leaves starting to look happy.

Only other one that seems to actually show change is mp5 which is one that I just put a gallon of water through a day or two before I started leaching. I was stumped and wanted to see her runoff. She seems to be holding onto the green now, and she lost probably 15 yellow leaves a couple days before giving her that gallon of water.

Most of the rest that have been leached so far seem happier, a lot look to be praying harder, just no color change yet (except for mp1 but ive been workong with that one a bit longer than the others). I'm thinking it's surely coming
