Pressing kief into rosin with hair straightener

I sifted some kief today and put it in parchment and used a hair straightener to produce a rosin but it just turned the kief more sandy almost like hash.
I pressed until it smoked at these 2 temps 140f-450f the paper even turned yellow on it’s way to brown but not sticky so no extract
Am I just better off with using butane and collect and blast kief with it ?

Put some in a joint and I can hear it sizzling and very intense buzz also did a 2nd run and burnt the paper made a crumbly hash how can I turn it to a gooey consistency ?

I like smoking kief just the way it is. Seems like a waste of a top shelf item to try to do an extraction on it.

from what I understand with little research the Kief may be hard to extract with because the trichs got mushed up

with unbroken Trichheads and this type of pressure and heat extraction will cause the rosin to squeeze out

I tried pressing my kief with a hot electric clothes iron between sheets of parchment paper and it did not work for me. No idea what I did wrong. It did not melt and run together like what I saw on the YouTube DIY video.

There's too many contaminants in drysifted keif unless you screen it further and separate the headies into grades. So basically you made pressed hash. Not the worst problem to have; just smoke it. You can press kief into hash just by the heat of your hand in a piece of parchment.
For a contaminant free hash that is dabbable you would need to sift it further through smaller micron screens. It's too much trouble for me even though I have a custom screen box. I like it dirty...piled up on top of some bud.
You need a shit-ton of bud to make a good amount of rosin when extracting with heat. BHO consistently makes decent extract but then of course you need to purge the butane. I use a vac pump myself and yes I think you will get more bang for your buck running bho although rosin is a cleaner end product.

Are you making a little pouch out of an unbleached coffee filter to put kief in before pressing? Do you happen to have a massive pair of channel locks (20 inches or so) to squeeze with? Some of the tastiest dabs I have ever had were from squeezing good kief. Fresh is better IMO.

This is solid advice...

For good rosin you need to make sure your keif has been through the proper micron screens and usually heat pressed with a rosin specific screen/bag, not just in the parchment paper. This canadian dude knows his stuff check this video,
