Powdery Mildew or Trichomes?

Hi! New poster here. I hope I'm following the rules. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Growing outdoors in San Francisco. Had some powdery mildew problems. Wiped it off. Sprayed with baking soda. Seemed like I'd gotten rid of most of it. Just cut down the plant and started to trim for hanging. I can't tell if this is powdery mildew on the buds. If it is, do I give up on the whole plant?

Looks like PM I'd bath it in a solution of hydrogen peroxide and water to clean and remove Impurities just make sure you put a fan on em for the first 6 hours after the bath to dry the excess moisture from the bath

pm isn't as harmful as bud rot. there have been studies showing no harm for smoking weed with wpm. so its your call. not medical advice. Looks like you might still have some baking soda residue which you probably don't want to smoke so maybe consider that too

personally I would only use product with pm with alcohol processing.

.

I've used Dr Zymes Eliminator as a post harvest bath, 15 minutes and all the pm is gone.

It's basically citric acid from fermented fruit juices, food quality ingredients.

Thanks for the quick replies y'all. I think I'll call this plant a loss. I harvested one other plant, while trimming I noticed really small amounts of PM and just threw those buds away. I have four other plants that just started to bud. There don't seem to be any more signs of PM on them, but I'll be sure to spray them a couple more times.

It's okay to spray buds with baking soda or milk solution?

So, basically dunk them into a tub of that stuff and it's gone? Wow. That is tempting....

Those plants had a month to go....atleast
Say more about this please. How could you tell? I knew I was harvesting early, but didn't think I had month to go. With the powdery mildew I wanted to harvest early to avoid the plant getting more sick.

Dumped the plant btw.

It best to check the tric’s with a jewelers loope or a microscope to be more precise but when most people think they are done they still have a little time left. I always take mine when I start to see a small amount of amber trics I don’t pay any attention to the pistils. But there is so many ways people say that are best ways to tell just find what form works best for you and use it. Also I have dealt with PM several times and if you do the H202 solution wash it works wonders and they will be fine to smoke I think it actually makes the buds burn better and there is so much crap that gets caught in the trics of these plants you will be amazed at what wash’s out of them but it is important to put a fan on them for a bit and shake them before hanging to dry and you don’t need crazy air blowing on them just enough to help remove that moisture you added from the wash. Google washing cannabis and there is a lot of good articles from OG growers

do you have to rinse or wash the buds after using Dr zymes?

I rinsed mine in clear water.

According to Dir Z it is made from food safe products and smoking dried residue is ok. For an extra 15 minutes I get rid of the excess eliminator.

Did you rinse just after harvest or after spraying each time

Just an after harvest bath.

I also use Regalia, an immune booster, and an airros machine thad puts out hydrogen trioxide that kills the spores, on surfaces and in the air.
