5" tall and 6-7 weeks old? Man, I guess I shouldn't be whining so much about mine then. Considering that it's a full season strain for me, I guess I should not be worrying about it. I have about 250 high genetic Maui Waui seeds that I've been dying to try out; I might give a few of them a go.

I'm out of town for a few days but when I get back home Monday or Tuesday I'll be topping most of them, probably everything that is not SLH. I may just top half of the autos, especially the smaller ones. With only another 6 weeks left, I'm not sure I want to risk doing them all.

Hey Potpimp, see you have LED panels, I have a blue/red one and was just curious about the distance you have with your plants ? Have you tried different distances or not ?

Thanx :weed:

I put those babies right down on the plants unless I have a lot of plants, then I move it up so the light can hit more leaves. I am totally sold on LEDs for vegging. I still think the HPS beats it on flowering but at the expense of at least 4x the wattage, plus the danger of burning your house down and the extra heat the HPS creates.

The babies are looking great; some of them are really taking off now. All the auto's have a very healthy root system and lots of foliage so I topped them about 1/2" above the 2nd node to get 4 main colas. Most of the others are bigger (except for the SLH) but since I'm going to use the toppings as clones I'm going to give them another couple of days; after all, they have the rest of the season to go.

I'll take pix when I top the others and put them in the cloner.

Edited to add: I also wanted to mention that, even though they are only 3-7" tall, I can smell them from about 6 feet away!!

I was hoping to be able to take some pix and upload them today but I'm out of town for a family funeral. It will be a couple of days before I get back.

Thanks Sicc. :)

It's April 10th and they are 28 days old. The 8th of April: took clones from 9 plants. The clones are smelling super good and appear to be very healthy 24 hours later - with the exception of one plant whose leaves are curling. I have two 50w blue LED lights over them at a distance of about 2'. The first pic is of the clones in the Gro-Clone machine after two days. The second pic is of one of the Super Lemon Haze plants. It's not big enough to top; well, technically I could but I could not use the top as a clone so I'm waiting. One of the things I noticed is the extra deep saw-tooth in this strain. Pix 3-5 are of the topped plants a week ago and are clearly showing 4 main colas emerging. Pic #4 is of the Power Kush and #5 is of the MTF. All are very heathy looking except for the Super Lemon Haze, which is not nearly as vigorous as the rest and is only about half the size of the others. The Power Kush continues to dominate in size and vigor. The plants are loving the MG Organic Growers Choice food; it's pure N with a humus smell and looks like Liquid Karma, sort of like diluted molasses. With the blood meal, bone meal, cottonseed meal, alfalfa, lime and other amendments the soil has I have to say that I am more than a little surprised to see what the MG food does for these. Not only are they growing like crazy; within a day they went from a pale green to a deep green and much healthier looking. Pix 6-8 are of the MTF males that I'm keeping. I'm not going to use but one but you never know when something will happen if you only have one. I threw out two males, one smaller MTF and an Orange Candy Floss. Afterwards I thought about the OCF and regretted tossing it but what is done is done. I put the MTF males in another location to keep them from pollinating any of the females.

Not much to report. I did transplant 8 of the full-season plants this morning. I will be transplanting the rest of them in the next few days. I have a few new seedlings coming up now, the MTF's. I plan on having a harvest every two weeks or so. I'm having some yellowing on the bottom leaves on 3 of them. I figured it was either too much watering or too much N so I added some ferts that is high in K and low in N and one of them is looking much better. I'm also backing off on the water some too til I find out exactly what the sensitivity is with these three. All the rest are looking great. The clones do not have roots yet but I'm hoping to see some in the next couple or three days anyway. That'll be nice.

I decided to take positive action this morning about the yellowing, necrosis and brown spots on a few of my plants. One or two of the ones that I added K to has completely come back to normal but some of the others are yellowing, not many but enough to kick me into action to "do something" about it. So I decided to give them a really good douching. I took each pot and held it under the spigot until it was fairly saturated with water, then I smushed the sides of the pot (the container, not the plant) and made sure that the whole thing was thoroughly saturated. I let them drain then sat them back out in the sun. Photo #5 is of the ones I was most concerned about. Also, you can see how there are 4 main colas coming along beautifully, especially in pix #4,7 & 8. The MTF autos already have buds (pic #4) but the lowberry doesn't have any yet. I'm wondering if maybe they will take more than 60 days - not that it's an issue for me. Photo #3 is the next generation of MTF's. This seems to be a royal pain in the ass strain when it comes to germinating. I have tried it several ways and have found that (1) they LOVE heat, and (2) they HATE too much water. I tried planting them directly in the soil, with the end of the seed where it connected to the plant pointing downwards. I covered them with about 1/2" of sifted potting soil, watered them, put the dome over them to keep them moist but not wet, put them on a heating mat and a light over them - and only 4 seed out of 72 came up. This is the third time I've planted directly into the soil, that being over 200 seeds, and I'm not happy with the results at all. So I'm going back to the paper towel method - with a twist - to see if I can get results. I wet the paper towel. put the seeds on it, folded it over a few times, making a neat little package, then put them (I did 5 different sets) into a large plastic storage bag, put it in the planter under the dome and put it out in the sun to get really toasty. I'll check this evening to see if any have popped. Over night I will keep them on a heat mat and I'll also add a small heater and try to keep the temp between 85 and 95. I should see results from that.

The ones I put in the ground are looking very happy, especially the kushes (pix 7 & 8); that has to be the happiest, easiest to grow strain that I've ever done. Still no roots on any of the clones yet; I looked at each one of them this morning. I'm really starting to get nervous about them, although they appear to be still in relatively good health. The room still smells amazing from the aroma of the tops. Next time I go to town I'll pick up a bottle of Clonex to add to the water, maybe throw in a couple of drops of Superthrive too.

You've got it backwards. Too much K, not enough N.
