Pot size question

Okay so my seeds have finally germinated and im in a dilema. The seeds are going straight outside now that they have germinated into the woods in a nice area I found. Now my question is whats the largest pot I could put them in? I ask that because I wish to transplant them as little as possible and I want the pot to have some weight so it doesnt fall over easy due to wind ect.

I dont plan on keeping them in the pot the whole life just until they are big enough.

Thanks!

I recently transplanted into a 3gallon pot - but I didn't put rocks in the bottom...is this OK? I figured the soil had good enough drainage with some perlite?

THe rocks in the bottom are to prevent the plant becoming top heavy and toppling over, or being blown over. Perlite is fine.
