Post deletion, fighting amongst breeders' fans etc.

I just noticed that the swerve thing has gotten rediculous again.

All of a sudden all of the major threads where his blunders are being "discussed" have been altered or closed, or even deleted. which i can partially understand, as im sure they're was a lot of nasty posts. thats understandable. but preventable.

so i geuss all of us "normal members" dont have the same "rights" on here as breeders like swerve. they get to talk how they want at anyone. if not the breeder then its his/her/their followers. and if they dont like it, it tends to dissapear.

you cant even go into seed and strain reviews and post anything about any Chem strains w/o getting jumped. never fails.



All im really getting at: If we are gonna have our posts deleted, and threads closed based on that specific subject matter(posting any sort of negativity towards breeders)... we shouldnt have to sit there and take it from them or their "followers" either.

I should be able to post about an OGK/Chem w/o getting attacked for it not being from TCC, and thats exactly what happens. and then when people get nasty with you and you try and correct them, it just gets deleted.

im not accusing any of the mods on RIU of anything either. so dont get bent outta shape over it. you guys have to do what your told basically.
its just that the whole thing can be very one sided, and its only making swerve look better to delete all of the stuff. makes people like me feel like shit for even coming on RIU and talking.

Perhaps there needs to be a List of common rules when it comes to discussing ANY breeders(not just swerve). that way we all know what to avoid specifically in order to keep the conversation decent. once someone disobeys the rules they lose the ability to be in the thread. just an idea.


i just hope this sparks at least SOME consideration towards fixing the issue... RIU would be exponentially better w/o the need to bicker and claw about something so trivial.

there are rules to the form, if things go against rules us mods have no choice but to close the thread,
or delete inappropriate posts by members if it goes against forum rules , if you see something like being attacked, harassment, explicit photos, (ei : guys with blown up heads, and dead polar bears) use your report button, We are volunteers, and as much as we try to be online as much as possible to help the form it may take some time, to get said post deleted, or thread removed.

In the mean time dont feed the person whos attacking you, dont fight back generally it will add fuel to the fire, ignore the bully and move on. Everyone is treated to our best ability of fairness, of course some posts will always be overlooked because we cannot be everywhere and read every single post though we do try there are over 400,000 members here on riu, help us help you use the report button , if you feel you're being annoying or a pest by reporting , YOURE NOT! we need everyones help to make the forum a great place to learn, chat and have a good time, of course it is the internet and someone will always cause an issue, but without your help we may never know that person did it!

well i do use the report button... but ive only used it 2 or 3 times. i usually get made to feel as tho im doing something wrong by that.

plus it feels like tattling... i got called a snitch last time.

im just trying to point out an ongoing issue, that if corrected would make RIU that much more valuable.

the bolded part is the reason why this shit goes on , because people dont want to use it, they feel like a pest, their tattling, their being annoying, this is why we have this issue, because people refuse to use the report button, for the exact reason you said , you dont need to tell anyone you used the report button, just report it. As much as us mods try our best to read every thread, we need users to use the report button. So as much as it is an ongoing issue, its also a pain in the ass you guys dontuse the report button cause we cant help you if you dont help us

I have to agree though with the OP , I have seen the likes of Subpar moderation . Yes I was a moderator at GreenPassion back in the day when Sub called it home .. I love how he got his ass caught altering words here and then packed up his belongings once again ..

i deleted the thread about swerve getting arrested as it was getting out of control, people going back and fourth saying all kinds of bs, it was a mess to begin with, but i left it open until things got out of control imo..

then i deleted some posts today in another cali connection thread because the poster said that swerve was arrested and at the time he had a cock in his mouth, and that cock happened to belong to another breeder...
all of that was a bunch of bullshit, so it's gone... if people like to post such bs, how about they put their name in place of the person they're posting about?? if they wouldn't like the same things said about themselves, what makes it right to say about another person??

and as far as people jumping on you for not liking something, well, not much can be said about that as that's human nature.. people aren't always going to like the same things as you, that's why there is vanilla and chocolate ice cream imo..
some people are more vocal about their likes and dislikes, it is what it is really..

WHOA wait a minute here... ive had MODS get on my case... so... ??? yeah mods frown upon reporting IMO. sunni u seem to be cut of a different cloth, i do agree with you. but what am i suposed to do? blow up your stuff with reporting? then i would here it big time. im just saying RIU needs an overhaul rules wise.

if a mod is out of line report it, i guess it depends on the situation, were all adults we know whats acceptable and what isnt . if a mod is getting on your case about something you reported go to another mod, or rollie about it (though expect to wait about 1-2 weeks for a response from him)

i truely dont have anything against any mods, i just notice that u can get VERY different actions/opinions depending on the person.
plus we all know that some of the stuff that got deleted/locked was valuable opinion buried in trashy posts. it makes RIU look like they are covering a particular breeders butt.

dont get me wrong either, ill admit learning the hard way. ive said some stuff i wish i could have took back and re-worded. but i dont exactly provoke the utterly nasty responses i get either. man...

A couple of my posts were edited/deleted of content. I re-posted using C&P something that someone else posted here and on another forum. There is a reason i re-posted that info and Id like to explain.

I reposted the info for the sole reason of thinking there might be some truth to a part of it. If he had spoken to authorities and compromised Attitude or their customers (many of us, myself included) i wanted people to be aware of the possible compromise of their security. I honestly couldnt care less about who is screwing who and their personal misadventures.

I do care about my security and the security of others here. I apologize for not editing the personal crap out when I copied and pasted that info. I cant and wont apologize for informing people here about a possible security issue.

The only time any of my posts were deleted was when I was saying stuff I shouldn't have said.

Did I get in trouble? Ehm.. No, but Yes..... the stern message I got from the Admin was enough to fix my attitude. (I was in the wrong so I had to suck it up and apologize)

If you go causing a ruckus, the mods are usually on it. The report button, for anyone that wonders if it works... it DOES work. That's how I ended up with a nice little message from Potroast. (referring to the report button)

The mods here are good people. They really aren't the ones you want to be butting heads with

it is perfectly legal for a seedbank based in the uk to sell seeds.. seeds are perfectly legal to possess in the uk, unlike the us of a, as long as you don't germ them.. any seedbank based in the uk is breaking no law of their country, so how exactly would any breeder be comprmising any seed bank by getting arrested exactly?

I got it all straightened out for the most part. i hadnt realized that he had been reading thru posts and editing them at the exact same time i was about to post. so he must have already intended to shut the thread. there was no breeders butt covering going on really. sry if i caused any confusion.

i was a little more upset about stuff that had happened a LONG time ago, and i thought it was starting to happen again.

the mods are good peeps!

i was wrong! and make sure u report when needed. the mods cant be everywhere, and no one is perfect.
