im probably going to try it, but wanted to know if anyone has ever tried it. and what your results were.

this is a fairly hot debate. i am a firm believer in simulating nature indoors, not only with organics, but with ambient music as well. a good sounds of nature cd is what i like to use. there is a full thread on this already that you should read, ill try to find it for you.

i think any noise is good for your plants the minute vibrations help strengthen it in a less violent way than a fan blowing on it

actually, i just got done reading up and watching videos.. turns out that metal or any hard music helps improve plant growth speed, and yield.

other types of sound can help, but metal is the best.:joint:

Sorry my plants only listen to rap, so they are practically OG's LOL!!! My plants wilted when I tried to play country. Besides, I like to think that if I play the music that I like when growing, that my plants will sponteneously increase in potency when I play a song that they have heard while growng up, when I smoke them.

Just use the music that is suitable to your taste besides do you really want to have to listen to Metal all day???? J/K (I like a lot of musical genre's including metal)

My plants aren't metal-heads though. No dis-respect intended but most metal kills my buzz and plants potency!!!

I honestly don't think it makes a difference what KIND of music you have, just how good of a system you have. I have no evidence of this, but from what they say music does to help it : 'gentle vibrations that thicken stems', etc. It'd only make sense that if you put a woofer in there, it'd effect them more, no? Maybe I'll try it.

O.K enough joking around, hate to sound all Mr scientist but there is no evidence to show this works. Even for a lay man it's easy to see how the principle of this is absurd.
1 possible explanation is that by listening to the music time passes more quikly (in your experience NOT like time travel!) and stops you looking at your plants every 5 mins! ;)

that doesn't sound 'Mr. Scientist' at all. It only makes sense that anything different in the environment will effect a living thing. People love music, animals love music, why should plants not? They're closer cousins than most people think.

well, i recently seen an episode of mythbusters, and they went up on a roof with a greenhouse tent and planted a bunch of peas.

in each tent they played different types of music. one was classic, one was metal, and the other two were peoples voices, one yelling at the plant, and the other talking to it gently.

the plants in the greenhouse with the metal music playing were growing better after like a month or so. i dont remember how long they did it. but that could just be because metal would provide the most vibrations out of all of those.

UMMMMM... you should really read up on stuff like this before you takl about stuff that might be over your head.

and there is a lot of evidence showing that it does infact thicken the stems.

sooo... yeah.

I always heard it was the vibrations, I have two 1000 watt HE2's in my room that rattle things off shelves and break shit. Hoestly though I have no idea whether it does anything or not. I haven't had anything to compare. But I also like the vibrations from the subs and it feels and sounds awesome when your high. Maybe I should put my subs right next to the plant and see if it stresses them out. I let you know.

I think the weed has got to your head mate, lay of it, sober up, and look at the reality of it again. IF it has any effect it's negligible, a fan would do exactly the same as these 'vibrations' but just a lot better, and quieter.:blsmoke:

funny, i would have thought you got my point last time. fans are not good for buds. you should know this, considering you try and act like you know more than me.

and im not talking only about the "vibrations'' im talking about the POSITIVE AMBIANCE that music is proven to have on plants.

and ambiance is the mood of an environment that somthing is in. not just 'vibrations'. :bigjoint:

I'm gonna do an experiment and tape my wifes vibrator to my plant.....I'll keep you updated :hump:
That sounds like a really good idea! Or a really bad one! Either way, experiments are fun, but you gotta have something to compare to, and they have to be the same strain and I prefer to grow different strains, cause then I don't have to smoke the same thing all of the time.

Can I not have an opinion and not sound like I'm trying to act like I know more than you, come on. All I said was that this is nonsense, and your descending into nonsensical ramblings. Now it's " POSITIVE AMBIENCE" of the music itself, and the "mood" geee, do you believe in vampires and ghosts as well?:? What do plants find more aesthetically pleasing, Bach or Metallica, I'm sure they tell you in the conversations you have with them.:blsmoke:
Fans are fine for buds anyway, who doesn't use fans when there plants are budding:confused:

I think your distinction between plants and animals has become seriously blurred.:peace:

no its always been about positive ambiance, thats what the thread is about. and you are free to state your opinion, i dont care, its just people usually back up their opionion with some kind of fact.

plants are living things, they grow based on their environment.

and it's not that you cant have an opinion, you just say smart ass things like "do your plants talk to you?''. no, my opionion is based on a shit load of evidence that if you play music it can provide a positive ambiance for growing.
