Poor First time grower in need of some advice

Ok here is my scenario, i dont have any money like at all so i dont got anything fancy and wont be buying anything like that regardless of what anyone says, so dont waste your/my time by posting somthing like that please.
Im have a large stand up closet about 6 feet tall, in the corner of my room, behind the closet there is a space about 3x3, this is where im growing my plant(s).
as of now i have 10 seeds germinating and im expecting to get about 4 or 5 to sprout and maybe 2 of those will be male. so 2 plants behind this closet.
Im using small pots, and watering with distilled water in soil. (need tips on fertalization/best soil types/ofteness of watering) Now this is where everyone is going to tell me to stray away from. but im using energy efficent houshold bulbs(the ones that are spiral shaped) or 60-100W incandescent regular lightbulbs. I need to know how many i should use, how far should they stay from the plant and how long should they stay. I am also going to line the walls of my growspace with aluminum foil, and have my room at 20*Celsius.

I just want some tips for growing with these types of bulbs. and also what kind of soil,water,fertilizer(if any at all).

Dont use incandescents they are worthless...get as many of those spiral bulbs (compact flourescents) as you can and find some organic fertilizer. also throw a fan in there and try to keep the air moving.
you want blue cfls for the veg cycle and red for the flowering...if youre on a budget get a mixture!

oh and lose the foil, it wrinkles and makes heat spots, flat white paint works great!

aight sick. i live in the hickest town man, i dont think i can get cfls for like at least a 3 day drive lol.

but where would i get them i got like 2 hardware stores. not a home depot or anything of that magnatude

check your local super market like stop & shop.. ive seen them there. there about 5 bucks each..

you gonna wanna got the daylight ones at first.. id grab about 5 to 6 cfls you gatta check the light spectrum see how man kelvins they are 6500K is wat you want for veggin and for flowering 2700K is ok for flowering thats what i have but from what i hear you wanna get a hps or mh cause the hps has a 2100K rating like a early morning or late somer day. thats why the hps has that yellow look to it. which they say you will get tight ass bud and a bigger yeild. i use 54 watt x4 floras grow bulbs at a 2700K spec

and go with DWC man fuck soil..easy to set up and your growing with dro man.

rubbermaid bin with a 60 gal fish tank air pump 2 air strips and water and nutes. its a set and forget basicly. you dont need to water just need to check PH daily an manage the lights

ok the ones i have right now are 3000k
so if i have like 5 or 6 for 2 plants
how far should they be away from the plant

It only takes $5 dollars to get a credit card at any Rite Aid drug store,you buy the card for $5 then you deposit how much money you want to spend,it takes all of 15 minutes to do & you can buy anything over the internet you want.

I have 4 standard bank issue credit cards along with a home depot card but i only use the rite aid master cards for buying anything online.

i live in canada
we dont have rite-aids
but we do have tim hortons lol

listen man if you want to grow well there is no way around spending money!! plain and simple .. you go cheap you grow cheap....listen to panhead .. go get a freaking gift card from your local bank or something its not hard you just need to not be so lazy!!!

your gonna want to have those cfls 2-4 inches away

oh. and for my mix
i was gonna use like 50/50 sterilized potting soil and perlite
or just sterilized potting soil and some sand

i would use all 3 together but thats just me...

hey those light bulbs are called cfl, compact flouresent lights, there is a cfl sub-forum, every thing you need to know about height and stuff will be there

after germanation, how long do i keep the lights on if they are still under soil?

oh and how long should it take before i start to see a sprout

dude, I got you. I'm poor as fuck too. I am just about to scrap a grow I started like a month ago. I spent absolutely no money on it and I fucked up a few times, so I'm just gonna start over. 1or2 cfl's would be enough, the more the better, but you don't need anymore. and foil is okay, not Ideal but definately okay. I have just kept the lights on constantly, but a few hours of darkness is a good idea. within a day or two they should sprout. you should probably water em once a day, or every other day. hope yours turns out better than mine!
