Last night I read for hours and hours on cloning techniques and found some conflicting info. So I thought I'd take a poll and see what the good people at RIU think!

So my plan was to take clones, give the plants 1 week to recoup then switch to 12/12. However I read that if you wait until 1 week into flowering the clones do better due to the stems becoming more pulpy instead of woody. (I thought this might help to make sure they are all female as well.) So now I'm not sure when to take some cuttings.

Thanks for stoppin' by! =)

i couldnt tell you the best time. but i take them after the branches are longer enough to make a good size clone. 4-6"..ive taken smaller ones too..clones are suppose to give you the same pheno and also stop long ass veg times. so make take the plant youre going to flower veg it a little longer get some good clones off of it and shorten your time later

Ok one last bump, need a few more votes till I decide for sure. So far I am thinking of taking cuttings this weekend then going 12/12 next weekend after they recoup a bit. =)

Thanks again everyone. Peace!

I ended up taking them about 1 week before flowering and all seems well. =)

Update:

- Soaked peat pellets in boiling water to sterilize and let them cool off.
- Stuck a colored toothpick in each plant so I could mark each of their clones with a same colored toothpick later. (These were un-sexed at the time.)
- Took cuttings with razor at 45 degree angle then threw them right into water. (Note: Cut upwards not downwards or you'll accidentally whack off fan leaves.)
- Slightly peeled the backside of the 45 degree cuts, dipped in Rootech gel and then stuck in peat pellets about halfway, pinching the top of the pellet around the stems tightly, squeezing out excess water.
- Trimmed off the points on the leaves about 3 zags in then put into my DIY biodome which is just a clear upside down storage bin under 4 100W CFL's. (23w actual consumption.)

It's been well over 3 days later and they look great! =D

BAD news is...it looks like 3/5 may be male. So a bunch of these may end up going down the shitter anyway. I seriously understand why people pay extra for feminized seeds now, what a heartbreak! I'm trying to remain hopeful and I won't know FOR SURE until sometime this next week but damn....so much time and energy wasted. =/
