I have the ppfd meter app downloaded on my phone, and I'm trying to figure out the correct light source type within the app so I can measure my ppfd correctly. I've looked at the specs on the gavita website and all it says is full spectrum.
So which one would I select?
“Full spectrum lights are lights possessing a 6500K color temperature, a CRI of greater or equal to 95, and closely mimic natural daylight in terms of spectrum.”
Firstly, for sensor calibration you must have a light source with confirmed light output at the middle spot at certain distance - this is in PPFD form so you must convert it to lumens to set your light sensor right before measuring PPFD.
I've never cared to measure PPFD. Especially with LED my lights sit on my plants @ 100% power in bloom. Yeah some tops will get bleached but that's ok. Some of my tops are legit growing through the light and still turn out fine.
I think of it like this, saving the 10-15% of very top buds to make the other 85-90% get less light isn't worth it.
