build an isulated grow room. if you are serious about growing, it would cost about 60 bucks for plywood, a few 2x4's, and isulation. other ways of heat are just gunna use more electricity(dont use a a space heater)

you could use a space heater but it would be pretty dangerous. if you can find a simple plug in style thermostat that you can plug a small heater into, that would do it. or like the other guy said you can either run 24hour lights or switch the lights so they run at night. But up there its going to be in the 50's in the day soon so you may need to try and insulate the room a bit better

for now the temps during the day get up to around 76 which is fine but at n ight it gets down low and i was thinking about getting a space heater? i guess thats what you call it, just a fan and heat up disk thing, anyways put it on a timer for the night time to come on every hour or something? sound alright? and yes next grow im gonna insulate the whole room

Bump...I am having the same problem in a upstairs bedroom. The temps were getting down there at night so i just started exausting in the same room it stablized the temp in the 70s but i plan on flowering soon so this is gonna be a issue. I to plan on getting a small space heater and connecting it to a timer. The space heater will come on when the light goes off. I think this will do the trick.(i hope)

that would work but i would worry about temp fluctuations. if it gets up to 75 in five minutes but is down at 60 for thirty minutes till it kicks back on mey be a problem. im sure you can fiddle with it a lil bit to find the right settings though. it may just take a bit of patience an a wathful eye

Hey, you might check this heater out. It's got a bunch of different temp settings and it's radiator style which means there's not hot dry air blowing on your plants all the time. My roommate had a similar heater at my old place. She didn't use it on plants, but the air from it was more gentle than one of those fan and coil type units.

yeah, i got one of those cheapy space heaters from like home depot... it doesn't have a thermostat, just a low med and high setting and a dial on it like the heater in your car that has a red line that gets thicker with more temp... the guy who said that it would work and just have to be patient with it was dead on... i just had to keep adjusting the temp till it would kick on and off at the right range, took maybe one full day and a half of messing with it to get it dialed in pretty good.. works pretty well now that i have it dialed though.. i am sure that there are much much better models that you could get that would even have a thermostat setting on them where it would kick on when it got below a certain temp, but for about $30 the one i got works fine...

I couldn't think of a better name that would express both my love for biology and my love for being super duper high, haha. bongsmilie

Oh and i forgot to mention those heaters are very gentle. They take a while to warm up and cool down, so be patient cause you probably won't notice it's working for a little while. This is probably better though cause it won't shock your plants with the temp spikes.
