Please help! My babies are dying!

Maybe you should post because you want to help people learning, rather than to get +rep. I don't frequent these forums, and didn't even pay attention to the fact that they had a rep system. I went through the thread and gave +rep to everyone that gave advice and then didn't feel the need to act like an idiot a day or two later.

And there is no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid responses. It might seem simple and basic to someone that has worked with plants before, but this is all new to me.
Oh yeh i see you didnt rep me, thanks buddy..good karma to you:blsmoke:

As a bit of an update... the 4 seedlings that where in very bad shape did not survive. I believe they where already too far gone by the time I transplanted them.

The two smallest sprouts (that sprouted last) seem to be doing great after their transplant to one gallon pots.

I believe it was a combination of having containers too small, without ample room for the taproot to develop, and over-watering. Since transplanting them to one gallon pots they have shown a much improved growth rate, with absolutely no stunting from being transplanted at only a week old.

Here are some pics (with lights off), please let me know what you think (also included a pic of the setup I am using now with a 400W Metal Halide that I moved my seedlings under at 14 days old, which was 3 days ago).

These pics are from today, and they are currently 17 days old (from the time I germinated seeds).

One is G13 Labs White Widow and the other is Northern Lights x Skunk.

I did not read all 5 pages. But some things looked pretty obvious to me.

1. The weren't buried at the correct depth.
2. Overwatered.
3. This is only from personal experience from raising from seed, but it looks like you have too much light. My babies don't like too much like that. Others do fine I guess.

Also, make sure you are keeping the temp warm enough.

The ones that survived do look alot better. Watch your drainage.

IMO, your plants are terribly abused, but now, it looks like you have a handle on it. If your soil has nutes in it, and I'm pretty sure it does, that's a lot of your problem. Seedlings dont need nutes. Thay have enough energy stored in the seed to last them awhile. Over ferting as well as the other probs mentioned can kill them for sure. They look nute burned, light stretched, overwatered. Check the pH and ppm of your grow medium and see where you are. Like a few folks said, READS, READ, READ, then post questions. Your next grow will be 1000% better.
Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the advice.

I think you are correct on all 3 counts. Some seeds where buried much more than a 1/4" deep, I was watering way too much, and I think I had too bulbs, too close together that may have caused some heat issues... however I think the overwatering was the main issue.

The very small plastic inserts where very easy to overwater, and I was watering them far too often.

I am using 70% Fox Farms, and 30% Vermiculite for my soil, so I am hoping my drainage is great.

All is not lost, since I have healthy seedlings of both of the strains I planted, which with any luck will soon be large enough to start taking clones from.

And I only used a few of the seeds that I bought, as I expected to make mistakes on my first attempt at growing.

I have 8 seeds from some very good unknown bagweed I have planted 3 days ago (directly into 1 gallon pots), so I can get some more practice with growing with seeds before I try again with more expensive seed stock.

dont listen to every one like the one guy said take what people say and tweek it to best suit your plants. also remember in the wild seeds just fall off of plants and they seem to grow just fine. plants want to grow you gotta let them DONT MESS WITH THEM TOO MUCH this is the hardest thing to get used to it feels like you need to mess with them all the time. i put mw seeds rt into the same size pot i will grow with wet the soil enough to see some run off out your drain holes and then plant your seeds you will not need to water quite so often also i use fox farms ocean forest from start to finish with that soil NO NUTES UNTILL WK 3 OR 4 OR WATCH YOUR PLANTS TO SEE IF INITIAL GROWTH SLOWS DOWN AND THE USE ONLY 1/4 STRENGTH NUTES good luck and watch out anymore most everyone on this site seems to be pissed off all the time IF YOU DONT WANT TO HELP NEWBIES THEN DONT READ THE FORUM GO SOMEWHERE ELSE WE'RE ALL SUPPOSED TO BE IN THIS TOGETHER AS FRIENDS WELL I GOTTA GO GOT AN APPT TO GET MY MEDICAL CARD YEA!!
