Please help! Desperate….

Hey everyone, i am using an ez cloner for the first time and it appears that i am having problems. All of the cuts that i have in there are kind of flopping over. Its day 3 since i took them and put them into the cloner. I am using 1 tsp per gallon of dyna KLN in the reservoir and used some rooting hormone on them before i put them into the machine.

1. My questions are, what could i have done wrong?
2. Should i try and build some kind of dome on the top of the ez clone? (where i live the air is super dry)
3. Is it normal for cuts to droop like this for the first few days?

Yes, a dome is absolutely essential. It's normal for cuts to droop but if they were under a dome they would not droop at all or would perk back up quickly. I'm not sure what the KLN is but you do not want to put nutes in the water, just rooting hormone. Also, make sure the water temp is not too high.

Yea, as mentioned, humidity is important. A higher RH will make the environment smooth and comfortable for the plants to root. It can be perceived that just as we are more loose in a warmer higher humidity, so are plants especially at the rooting stage of growth.

Yeah pal get a dome on there, make sure cuts are at a 45 deg angle, also did you take your clones from a well established plant. I found 17 deg to be a good water temp, didn't bother spraying them with water as the dome keeps the rh really high

do not run your pump 24 hrs straight. You do not need a dome with a ez cloner. If you don't cycle the pump 15 on 15 off, the water will heat up and cause all kinds of problems. did you p.h water to 5.8?

The ph of my water is 6.0 and the water temp has been a stay 70-72. Ill put the cloner on a cycle. Do you use one?

i use to. I had a timer that ran 2 min. on and 10 off. but that kind of timer is expensive. a 15 off 15 on is cheap and works fine.

I don't know why everyone says that you need a cloner to begin with. Yes, clones will droop they will gradually rise once the roots start. I guess what I don't understand is that "Its essential for a friggin dome" It isn't. I have cloned everything from tomatoes, peppers, and pretty much anything. With a simple rule. Decent humidity, good rooting hormone, above room temperature heat. I don't use 2 days dark, not anything fancy. Just good soil, proper heat, and humidity. My favorite is not a cloner, it is actually a small seedling coco fiber seeder, and a friggin sandwich bag on top allowing to take the natural form of the bag. I have a 100% turnout. I don't get it. Leave them alone, don't fertilize. 1 week water very lightly with fish emulsion. Done

Nope, it's not essential but I have a 100% success rate and I use a dome. I've tried it many times without a dome and didn't get nearly as good a results. Everybody has their own way and there is no "right way / wrong way"; growing weed is all a matter of personal preferences. My tried and true system is to take the cuttings, dip them in Clonex gel and put them in Rapid Rooters, and that goes into a "6 pack" plastic holder thingy. That goes into a plastic tray with about 1/2" of water, then the dome goes over that and a low powered fluorescent light is suspended over it. I then put a heat mat under it with a towel folded double over it under the plastic tray. In a week there are roots coming out the sides of the Rapid Rooter and they never wilt; never had one not take root like this.IMG_6018.jpgIMG_6025.jpgIMG_6019.jpg

And yes these are all my plants that I grew from clones that I took from mother plants.

You can get by with what you have but if you cant maintain the humidity without a dome. Make a dome.
After a day or two under the dome
remove it and lightly mist the plants.
If they wilt put it back.

One nice thing with a dome is you can
put the clones near the fans with no ill effect.

USe a dome for trays, YES,On a EZCLONE MACHINE,NOT NECESSARY

from the ezclone website

18.) Where’s my humidity dome?
You didn’t get one cause you don’t need one. A humidity dome increases the potential for powder mildew, pest infestation, prevents the cuttings from transpiring naturally and can delay rooting times.
