Please help chose AC unit

I really would look as the options available to create a vented room, that will keep your CO2 levels up and cool your grow. The downside is if you have high humidity outside. This ventilation setup could work really well in the winter but you may need to grab air from a room inside the house to cool it in the summer. A good sized fan with a speed controller will give you the ability to adjust things. If it's hotter turn the blower up, cooler turn it down. A cheap inkbird controller can kick the system on and off as required. This would be my desired setup for a grow of that size.

If you have a room nearby that is cool you could use a intake fan from that room to cool the grow room. Seeing as you don't have a massive heat load to cool that might be worth trying as it would save a lot of power.
I think this is a better route than dumping money on an a/c unit(upfront cost) and then adding to your monthly electric bill.

Yeah even a small portable would eat 800 - 1000 watts making it by far the largest power consumption in the grow. A intake setup would use something like 200 - 250 watts. 25% of the power usage that the AC would use.

Sorry I don't know how to quote XD

That's what I do when in veg but the inside of my house is almost as humid as outside. often between 75-80%

So in flower the dehumidifier is mandatory, otherwise I get budrot. Because of that I close the bathroom door and window but then the temp raises a lot.

And I have to open the door/window a few times during the day to replace the stale air in the room.

I can manage this fairly well from mid october to mid may and get good results but the rest of the year it's definitely not an ideal environment, that's why I was looking at AC unit.

Maybe it would be best to forget about growing indoors in the summertime altogether? It's true that the AC would draw more than the rest of the setup (Damn XD)

Well you may want to have a setup with the AC for summer and use ventilation for the winter. Humidity is a bitch. If you were going to invest that much into a setup you might wanna look at other spaces available to you, make a larger setup that you can run only in the winter and get enough smoke for the year. The money you save on the AC could get more lights and just one run in the winter would be more productive, more efficient and less stressful.

Sadly I think you guys are right. I was a little naive and when you said 800-1000w that pretty much turned me off haha. I would be spending so much just to run a couple lights it's just not worth it even for the summer months.

So yeah I think I'm going to pass on the AC at least in this place.

I have to say I have never been discouraged from buying something so quick in my life ;) so I have to thank you guys for that! Seriously though thank you very much for taking the time

Another suggestion would be co2.Higher co2 allows you to run higher temps.

How hot does it get in the grow?
