Pleading for help with tent purchase

My home electrical panel won't support more than a 600 watts along with the 500-600 in lighting my veg and misc. fans.
Otherwise I would put a pair of 600's in my tent.

Hey guys, I'm shopping for a tent that can house 2000w, cooling isn't an issue. I'm also looking for input on extruder fans and carbon filters. The tent will be placed on a concrete surface in an exterior building and will be used for DWC 5 gal buckets. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Here's what I found so far..had to screenshot it, the link for detail is below

i dont know if this has been mentioned, but we do have 1 advertiser here who does grow tents. and i believe they have a discount
you should check them out , in the advertiser location if you arent set on a specific one yet

No room to add one breaker? Any way to upgrade the wire to the tent to amp it up? Is it a 15 amp?

If my memory serves I can safely draw 1440 watts from a 15 Amp breaker.
(Safely as in not to pop the breaker)
I don't know the math but If I plug in an additional 200 watts in lighting it pops the 15 amp.

By chance is anything else on the circuit? I don't what your electrical setup is, but the math is Volts x AMPS x .80....

the .80 is the 80% suggested as the safe zone.. so if the circuit is 120 volts x 15 AMPS, thats 1800 watts, x .80 is the 1440...

Some breakers have a trip setting that can be set, others have them built in and some dont even have them because of age.

No...not with that building all set up with just a few " leaks"here or there. I would be frothing at the mouth for a nice spot like that. You know your a grower when tou start looking at non grower friends basements...houses...and buildings and your brain just starts going with all the weed you could grow and how you would set it up if it were yours....lol

How far away is the growing area from the panel? If not far you'd be best served by getting some romex and pulling a dedicated drop to the grow area. Also, if you ballast and other equipment can do 220 you could pull a small 30 amp breaker...220 is still the same price as a watt is a watt but it allow for much less amps to be drawn which reduces heat.

So, I'm not the only one who walks around and thinks how could I grow in this or that; It's comforting to know others look at our environments with such extrapolations. Are you a Engineer?

Naw....just been growing indoors (and out) for a very long time and its habit. Being an indoor grower (especially back in the day when there were alot less of us) you pretty much have to know a little about everything that applies to growing but other "trades" as well....especially if you want to save money. Electrician work. Plumbing. Hvac. Carpentry. Etc....its not real technical. But if your not savvy with a screw gun..hammer...saw...duct work...wiring...it can get expensive calling up quotes from people that are. The whole legality thing was WAY different back then...and trust was seldom given to strangers. You did all this growroom construction shit yourself. Had to. That dont qualify as an engineer but it certainly does a general jack of all basic trades.

I like this way of thinking! Even in today times I still think all work should be done oneself as you can't afford to trust anyone. Don't get me wrong I do in fact love that some states are either straight out legalizing it or some medial tolerance but what happens if state law changes again and it's not tolerated. They now have a data base on a lot of people who use the drug for whatever reason. I've hardly ever have signed up for any of these store cards where you swipe the card and save a dollar or three...because I fell like they use that shit to monitor me and I'm old school and realize that shit is a dangerous way of mindset. What if corn and pees are banned ..they now now I like this food. I'm kidding but you kinda have to think like this to protest your freedom in a ever changing corporatism / communist society we're becoming again. You're a engineer, you make it happen out of what you have...nuff said.

I always get a chuckle when i hear growers say 220 amp is cheaper on youre electric bill. I dont know where that one got started. If that were the case every home would be 220 amp for everything....grower or not. Lol
I'm not sure either. I'm wondering if peek induction time or ramp could play a very small factor. Say a electric motor takes 3 times as long to ramp up to full power on 120 vs 220. Could the time factor stretch long enough to cost a little more? Or, a ballast that fires twice as fast and reaches full optimum operational parameters faster. I think these would be small factors for the home user but on a commercial scale it might add up. It also may help save due to a little heat reduction given off by the ballasts which reduces AC a little. But, on the outside the meter reads in watts and that's what you pay for.
