"day 40 veg and shes still under 5 inches tall"

Is this your only plant?

If you have other plants and they are fine then this is just a bad pheno, put it into flower for a taste, but you're probably not going to get much bud off of it.

If it is your only plant it is probably still a bad pheno, but as JustAnotherNewb said, we need more info. A pic would help.

They don't look bad, they just need some tweaking. Looks like you have the nute-problem under control, also. Aside from needing some perlite add to the soil,(for drainage/aeration)...light, is what you're lacking, mainly. Every light that is more than 3" from the plants, is basically, doing nothing. Adjust your's closer, add more, etc....anything will help. Also, if you add more, try and go with some spectrum closer to 6,500K(blue), which'll help the veg process. The 2,700K's work fine, but aren't ideal. You probably already know that?

How about temps and humidity? It isn't below 70*, is it? That'll slow 'em down, as well.

I cant reccomend everyone on this forum stop using fluo's because they have a full spectrum and they are readily avaible at stores. pros being said first, heres the Con, They do not contain spectrum that is powered by usable plant light. Your plants can use very little and what they cant use works against them. Since there is very little to begin with when your dealing with fluos, your plant cannot build itself properlt to feed itself properly adn you will lose a lot of your time with little to nothing (or worse if you get name brand nutes for fluos). Just type "hydroponics (City) (state) " on google and buy your self a 400w Mh ballast and see what happens. Its the best way to start.

great reply hoag but i come with the best , why to bother with lights go outside and get ur self a proper 10 feet plant to play around while u saving the planet , indoors is a waste of money , with the 1/20 u get x5 the end product ...

or maybe thats the uber : why to bother with growing in general when u can go to leave in masterdam ? visit my travel agency , just type " travel agency (the douchebag) "

Also a great answer but its fall so unless you live on the equator or have 13k lyin around the house to afford a decent climate controlled greenhouse, you will eventually need to find the best way to grow indoors. Im gonna love next springtime when my light is free and my crops are bountiful but in washington state thats far from reality, In fact we got gypped because our outdoor season this year was too humid and our fall came early. Id be a little jealous if I found out your from Cali bonjo. but it sounds like your in Barbados or something.

thanks for the tips man, a buddy came over today and suggested that the plants werent growing in height due to the lights being so close so i thought id run that by you to get a second opinion...but yeha i did know the 6500 blue spectrum deal im just workin with what i got for now lol in the midst of getting a new job (hopefully) its not below 70 but theres a fan always on them im deciding on making one of those c02 sugar water yiest thing in a bottle and have the fan on half the time than it is now. everyone else thanks for the advice..hoag i wish i could easily have a 400w hps system going on but again im workin with what i got. bonjo hopefully its not root heat stress the lights are pretty close to them. so basically i think im gonna raise the light on one side hopefully to stretch it a little. i need to get it out of the pot the fan leaves are up against the walls of the pot

get a hps 400 watt and then get a couple of blue cfl lights you should be fine or you can get a 400 watt mh light and keep the cfls for the flowering both are fine. but your just lacking light man thats it.

haha right on i'll give them all the juice i can, whats the difference between hps and mh? could i have my 2700k cfls with the hps?

based on these two sights the only difference i can see is the lumens ratio

http://www.1000bulbs.com/product/6468/LU400ECO-67533.html HPS ( 50,000 lumens )
http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?partNumber=11620-3-67458&langId=-1&storeId=10151&productId=3161185&catalogId=10051&cmRelshp=sim&rel=nofollow&cId=PDIO1

http://www.1000bulbs.com/product/6544/MH-04001SYL.html ( MH 36,000 )
http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?partNumber=11629-3-64713&langId=-1&storeId=10151&productId=1121875&catalogId=10051&cmRelshp=sim&rel=nofollow&cId=PDIO1

and from what ive read its all about the lumens lol. crazy price difference from lowes to 1000 bulbs

That is not entirely true. I have a plant that is 3.5ft tall done with 150w of cfls. People have actually had great success vegging and flowering with cfls. There are more advantages to CFLs than there are disadvantages. As with HPS and MH there are more advantages.

dude don't go buy the bulb you have to have an entire ballast you can't just screw the bulb into a standard socket. search on ebay or a website for HPS or Metal Halide (MH) ballast or digital ballast. Ebay has the entire set up fom 150w-1000w ranging from $90-$250

Um,...While that may be true, you are implying that they are a better choice than HID. The only drawbacks to HPS(for example), is heat, when compared to CFLs. HPS are way more efficient, watt for watt, and have way more intensity. Actually, if you were running 400 watts CFL, they'd put out as much heat as a 400 HPS,(maybe more) just spread out over a larger area. The CFLs have the advantages of spreading out the heat signature, and convenience of placement, I'll admit. But, that's about it. :)

Yep, as you can tell, I'm an HPS fan.lol

CMH will be next.

EDIT:
As with HPS and MH there are more advantages
Sorry, I mis-read that. Okay....I agree.lol
