Planning on setting up a 30x40 building

So the problem i keep seeing in this post is people keep using there growing experience to determine if he is in over his head or not. Just because it's to much for you to fathom or because you tried and failed or had hard times doesn't mean he will. At the end of the day growing is growing. It's not rocket science. It setting up the best grow environment your money can buy , locating good genetics, employing time tested grow procedures and monitoring systems for fluctuations. grow ops fail because of one or more failures in those three departments without the skill set or knowledge to rectify the problem.
If he spends his money on the things he needs, educated himself thoroughly on commercial production as well as general cannibas propagation and shoot for the lower end of the yield scale starting out he should be ok. Just cuz you can achieve something doesn't mean the next man cant.
Good luck on your grow. I'm about to set up. 400sqft (18x20) myself and here the same thing. Hahaha

My favorite part is the white out you used on your hand written schematic. So funny.
Really bruh you do know electric companies and other commercial plants toss out perfectly good equipment often still under warranty because they are going to more efficient leds. Smh

I would never run a full seed run in a room.
I can see doing it if shot gunning for genetics but I wouldn't be counting on the crop for income and I would have to inspect each plant daily and carefully to see if it's making bananas (immediate cull). So shot gunning IMO is best done in a SoG type setup, no wasting time with a long veg, just pop em, clone em, flip em, sex em, cull for anything undesirable and end up with the clones from the good plants as mothers. Really if trying to recoup the startup investment quickly then I wanna be starting with just one really good cut, making a big ass mother and doing a monocrop run with a shit ton of identical known good clones. This way I am instantly making crop for cash, no fucking around. If there is a shot gunning that needs to occur then I would prefer to do that in another space during the construction of the grow, this way I can have 1 verified good mother or more ready to go. Hit the ground running. The genetics is one variable you have total control over so don't cut corners on that shit. Those electric bills add up fast if you aren't making profit.

and if I am not in as big a hurry shot gunning and if I have the space to veg I would keep the original from seed plants in veg and root the clones and then flower them after maybe 7 - 10 days of veg. In a SoG the single colas perform better generally and you can fit more in a tray and you don't risk having a clone not root and it of course being one of the best keepers lol. Then you end up having to reveg that plant you flowered. The downside/upside to this is all those mothers are growing big while you are rooting those clones and getting them flowered but if you have the veg space the upside is you end up with big bushy mothers of the plants you wanna keep after culling all the "mothers" you don't want. Now you are ready to cut a big batch of clones for the first real production run.

this is the method I like best too. once I find a keeper from a test run I can get as many as I need right away rather than having to wait another 2 months for a single cut to bush out again. also don't know if its an anecdote or not but I was taught doing it this way cuts down on hermi risk bc the plants have time to adjust to your microclimate, as well actually being sexually mature by the time the first set of clones is ready to flower.

Plus you get to see how the plant performs from a cut, thats what you will be doing commercially anyway. lol

This is my first post so please excuse me lack of knowledge. With my state passing a medical marijuana law Nov 3rd, I am planning to setup a grow operation in one of my two 30’x40’x12’ metal buildings (assuming I get approved for a license).
Here’s my plan please murder it as you see fit. lol
I’m planning on setting up 6 32’ long 4’ wide rows. Which should put me in the 190-200 plant range assuming 2’x2’ spacing per plant. I have 240v service to the building as well as a water well on site that has been tested (ph6) this year and is delicious. I have access to all types of outdoor commercial flood lights as I’m a Lineman by trade. By July 1 2021 I could accumulate as many 1000 HPS or MH or both as needed. Ive been reading a lot about Hortilux bulbs so I’m leaning towards their super hps bulbs.
My initial plan is to spray foam insulate the building and add a 5 ton ac system to combat the high heat of the lights and help control the humidity (Mississippi has 90-100% humidity year round). Assuming I buy premium feminized seeds what would one be safe to assume the yield to be? I’ve been researching this nonstop and I see most people’s growing limitations are in height. I wouldn’t have that problem but would I do better to have less plants and try to yield more if I did say 130 with LST? I’m completely confused as to what method will give me the best product in the shortest amount of time.
If you have read all the way to here thank you, any and all opinions are appreciated. D
Stick with LEDs only, leave Hps alone. Thing of the past. Less hit and better terpene profile and quantity per watt. You will have to keep those fans pushing in there to get that humidity down in optimum range. Also, kick the CO2 with large boys unless u prefer tanks. I'll go with running g half the room if your a newbie, or a quarter of the room. Trellis them up and all. But you have to factor, are you going to veg in one half or what? I'm interested

Maybe we can reignite this convo, i recently moved to rural South Mississippi with plans to grow indoors in an out building just not on this scale. Wondering how this is going if it is at all bc of the decision reversal. I have a few years of experience from back home in a couple basements, just itching to get my property set up and getting back into the cultivation aspect… pix of my most recent growings (little over a year ago)

I still have plans to spend the money if/when our fucked up states representatives get done extorting large out of state cannabis companies. Shoot me a private message and I’ll be glad to discuss where and when we think Mississippians will get their medication.
