I have seen very few "breeders" in cannabis, at least in the scientific sense....thats a big part of the problem imho
Yes, legality is one way a strain is lost into the ether, but imho its laziness from people who call themselves "breeders"
again I guess it boils down to what is considered an actual breeder, not to take shots, but most if not all are glorified pollen chucks these days....working a line is tough in the era of plant counts, but the old tymers did it with NO counts, lol and where would we be without our base?
That same base is going to be around for the next generation too in 20 years imho, mainly because we stopped working stuff....I hope I am wrong and we have a revival, but strain hunting is a lost art.....The "collection" itself is "better" seems to be the forte these days....possibilities instead of action and that to me is the bigger cause of strain loss......
