At what point do you stop the pinching to double? I just was given a very leggy female and since it is August, and she is outside, how much legginess can you actually remove to bush this out

Depends on your personal preference. When I grow indoors I try to make 28 tops because I know each top gives me a gram size bud so that's one ounce from colas, and I basically Get an eighth off each branch. So I would assume outdoor if you have a heavy yielder and do that method you would probably get 28 quarters to 28 ounces, one per branch if that makes sense.
