So this is my first grow and these babies are 20 days in since germination, 17 under the light.
Seeds - Dutch Passion - White Widow
Mix- Premier Grow Mix HP, Soilless mix, # 4, High porosity growing medium.
Watering- at first I was watering every day, have just started(yesterday) to go to every-other day after some reading here. Using tap water that is left to stand. I have not tested PH but water PH is supposed to be very neutral in our area.
Light- 1000 watt HPS - Yes, I know it's too much for them right now but the budget is tight(light was free), I started the light about 4 ' high and then brought it down over the course of a few days to around 24" where it sits now(has been at this distance for about a week). Going with 18/6 .
Ventilation - Have a fan rigged up blowing out the top of the closet into the attic, have a fan gently blowing into the room- the plants rustle ever so slightly.
Temp- Not sure on ambient temp, but a gauge right within the plants reads 28C (82 F). It drops down quite a bit at night, down to around 18/19 C (64 F).
Nutes - Following "Keep it Simple Drain to Waste Program" using 3 parts - "Flora Gro", "FloraMicro" "FloraBloom"- Instructions provide specific measurements which i'm following. Currently mixing it at the "growth" ratio.
Questions-
- One Plant has a dead leaf, What is the possible cause? Reason for concern?
- Little bit of yellow blotchy discoloration on a leaf, cause ?
- Some leaves are folding in, deforming, sagging, is this from excessive watering?
- Should I water with straight water every few days? Instructions are not perfectly clear on this.
- Once I mix my nutes in with the water how long is the water/nute mix good for? Does the water "go bad", How often do I need to make a fresh batch?
- Is the temp drop at night too much?
- How is the light distance?, they seem to be growing out but not up in the last few days, they are only around 5-7 " tall.
- There seem to be quite the variance in color/health within the crop, some have perfect color, robust leaves, other slightly yellowing and have sagging leaves.
Thanks for the help!
