Yup i agree joyride, the dates they give out were so vague and nobody knew what was going on.
As per sept 30th, i thought they were no longer accepting paper work, my doctor signs no problem and asks regularly how its going.

leaffan, you mentioned dispensaries and im going to say "leaffan" as a possible torontonian...ever go to CALM?

So did the majority of people that I know. I thought Sept 30 was the last day you could get your renewal in.

Meh checked the site out and this is what I got

October 1, 2013
  • As of October 1, 2013, Health Canada will no longer accept new applications for production licences under the current program or applications to change the location of, or number of plants at, an existing production site under the current program.
  • As of October 1, 2013, individuals requiring access to marihuana for medical purposes who do not already hold a valid production licence for a given site can choose to obtain dried marihuana from Health Canada, or register with a licensed producer.
  • Health Canada will continue to renew authorizations to possess (ATPs) and to renew licences to produce (which do not involve changes to the location or the number of plants) under the current program until March 31, 2014. Health Canada's supply will be available until March 31, 2014.
Lol I guess I missed that last part.

HC renewed ATPs right up to the injunction. Sept 30th was the cut off date for the grows PPL and DPPL.
HC obviously were hoping the ATPs would just say fuck it and not send in their renewals.
There are a ton of patients ATP that got nailed on this.

Yup i got nailed, for both ATP/PUPL.

I thought Sept30th, no more paperwork. I exired march1st 2014, thinking it was now mandatory to purchase from prarie plants/HC. I see my doc once every 10days for my symptoms. He wouldnt have blinked to sign it again...

its appreciated, i always tell myself "theres always someone who would love to trade shoes, because theres always worse out there" but yes i would much rather grow my own medication then a LP...HC didnt listen all too much when the stat came out i believe it was less then 7% bought from PPS/HC

I'm hesitant to say this bigmanc, not knowing all your circumstances...but...
I can't see any cop charging you, or any judge convicting you if you ran a small garden for personal medication.
I would just grow, if you're physically up to it.
( I rarely give that advice )

Thanks, the problem is im in a rental. My landlord knows and has checked it out. Theres another thread in the Canada sub-section about a guy being arrested AND licensed. If cops come in, im growing illegaly and im in a rental = 9month mandatory minimum. I cant risk it at all i need to support my family, they mean much more to me.

Anyone trying to open a LP because "they want to help people" thats complete bullshit. They want to help people open there wallets.
My sole opinion, fuck LPs.
Wow, again, so much anger at LPs. We hopeful LPs did not create the problems, Health Canada did. I am a patient first. I also am thankful that I am well enough to tend my garden. I want to help people, and do help many people. I am a registered nurse. I sincerely hope that neither you, or anyone you love is ever unable to swallow, or to breathe without mechanical ventilation, or requires a gastrostomy tube, or is suffering graft vs. host disease, or ALS, or MS, or intractable lie threatening epilepsy, or any of hundreds of other devastating conditions. Most very ill patients are not able to buy equipment and learn to grow and wait months for product. They need help now!

I am glad you are also well enough to grow your own medicine and I believe every adult should have that right. Many people will still choose to buy from LPs. I hope to supply those people with great quality, organic cannabis at a fair price that I can make a living wage on. I am not greedy, and I acknowledge that I am fortunate to have the financial resources, the business skills and many other assets that allow me to pursue a license under the MMPR. I am not your enemy. If you feel you must direct anger somewhere, direct it at Health Canada please. I don't deserve your assaults and insults, I am actually trying to help people, including myself to have access to quality medicine.

Very well said.
I will hazard a guess that you are not the typical LP applicant.
Respect.
Thank you leafan, I really appreciate that. I hope that there are more like me out there, and I hope that Health Canada will allow smaller, farm based LPs to proceed and become licensed soon. We have waited a very long time. We applied in July 2013, and now are waiting for our pre-license inspection. I hope we will be one of the next ones listed and hope to be growing in the next couple of months.

are there any "farm based" LPs currently? I came to my "Fuck LPs" based on the government of canada believing us middle class citizens have all the money in the world. Paycheques taxed 25-30%, fuel is already 50% tax.

All my other medication is covered but why not medical marijuana? they choose who produces it, they agree with there pricing and i have no choice but to accept it? im not falling for it.

@MarijeJane - i hope your a diamond in the ruff and offer a real help for patients in financial need.

I think Cannafarm might be considered that...not too sure.
One day, in the future, there will be coverage...If Holland can get it, so can we.
Chad (ispice) has a non profit application submitted.
