I only discovered RIU a few months ago when an internet search linked me to the MMPR Small Scale thread.....been loving it here ever since, tons of great posters/information and a lot less of the ego and BS associated with icmag. My only complaint so far is not being able to make stickies, there is a ton of good information that is now buried deep in the forums.

all that weed for nothing if docs don't wanna sign. gonna take a few years for lp's to gather enough money to lobby doc colleges. by the time that happens, it will be probably be close to recreation legal anyway if not entirely.

I'm not sure how expensive you think that is, but have you seen the rounds Tweed raised?
These guys are talking about businesses doing well into the 10s of millions of dollars in annual revenue. They have the money today.

Recreational is the only way the gov can suck in the tax dollars they talk about and it has to be Colorado like or better. If they get too greedy and the price per oz stays high the black market will flourish which I hear is what is happening in Colorado since the legal stuff can be so expensive.

If they want to eradicate the black market they need to let people grow at home if they don't that means they want to corner the market which will breed an underground like it always does.

Well they obviously won't say anything bad about the market. It'll always be positive to those that need to hear the info, the rest of us are still scratching out heads as to where this 40K licensed patients will come up with the $1000's of dollars per month to afford their medicine. Seriously I don't even want to pay $300 per month for my weed as I can grow it 10fold cheaper at home.

I agree that they can't be too greedy with the taxes.
I think they consider grow at home as part of the BM.

Is it saying they acquired an LP or an LOI in order to do this?
Or they just acquired the option to acquire an MMAR grow facility?

Not sure but that's in my region. It MIGHT be an outfit that had discussions with our Regional District (local govt) last winter. They were keeping the location and who they are "a secret".

On a side note, I know that some applicants are planning to build in "secluded" locations for "secrecy". I see that as a misconception. If you are say an hour from police protection, that's not difficult for the theoretical "bad guys" to figure out. If I got to build a new city and pick my LP location, it would be within sight of the local RCMP detachment.

Yeah having your location in the boonies might not be such a great idea.

Cannabis is becoming like diamonds and maple syrup. Artificially inflated value, with supply/demand controlled by a secret "cartel". The fact that bank level security is needed by LPs is ridiuclous. All for a damn plant that has never harmed anybody EVER.

The plant could have caused serious damage to profits if it wasn't controlled. What other plant can be used as medicine, recreational usage, textiles, oil, saving the plant and etc... and its easily grown out doors and indoors.

Image the 100's of millions the DEA gets to "fight" it. Even the RCMP stated legalizing it would reducer the funding available to them.

Another things is cannabis users feel free and questions authority, we can`t have that.

In my hunmble opinion, people spending money on a LP setup is just waisting there money. We won this court battle before, we will win it again...sorry its barely a court battle. The judge could simply say "as per ruling in 2001 blah blah" patients need there rights to grow.

Anyone trying to open a LP because "they want to help people" thats complete bullshit. They want to help people open there wallets. To charge more then 4-5$ a gram is just pure theft. I could go to my grow store, get a 1000w magnetic, 1000w HPS, parabolic hood and socket for 99$!!! I could go directly to flower with 9 clones and scoop up 14oz+ in 60days.

So the example above is

my 99$ investment + 60days = 12oz/336g (you may even have bag seed or a friend with clones, you may need to buy seeds for 40-50$)

But an LP wants to charge what? 8-12$ a gram if im not mistaken.
8$ x 336$ = 2,668$ for 60days!

Its crazy, any judge who went to highschool will know this is not acceptable and invades our constitutional rights.

My sole opinion, fuck LPs.

Genuinely curious. I hear this thrown around quite often, but I don't think I've ever actually seen it backed up legitimately.

Yes it is a section 7 violation/challenge. Which has already been won and referenced many times with the Parker case.

Isn't that also the same section that David Malmo-Levine lost his case under?
I'm sure this is a bad place to stir this pot, but I'm just genuinely curious.

I get the argument, and I'm all for legalization / decriminalization.
That said, I just don't understand yet how the constitutional reference isn't a stretch.

At this point in time, there is no option they want you to go to LPs and nobody else, ive even heard of doctors hired by LPs to sign up for a specific LP, not happy with the quality? O.K go to another LP and get that doctor to sign you up or if your lucky enough have your family doc take care of it but keep in mind HC is down the throat of every physician college telling them not too. leaffan, you cant tell yourself that your happy about your arm being twisted and being forced to consume radiated mass produced low quality medication?

Im on the same page as you oddish, but to name a few is reasonable access (its needs to be readily available and priced affordable for all who need it) mobility - you need to be able to carry a certain amount of medication and i believe its 30days witch is different for everybody but treating everybody the same.

Personally, i found tending my garden a good hobby and actually therapeutic...i had a great time watching those little buggers grow up. I was happy seeing progress, a little upset to see some small failures yet extatic when i over came them

I remember John Conroy saying in one of his video's that it involves putting patients in a situation where they are left to choose between their liberty or their health. If they grow they are considered a criminal, but if they cannot grow it places their health at risk due to lack of access. Thereby leaving patients to make an unconstitutional choice under section 7. This is how I interpreted it anyway. Correct me if I'm wrong. It clarified it for me when he put it like that.
