I have a 70 gallon reservoir I'm using for flood and drain. I have the Hanna instruments ph/ppm/temp meter that sits in the reservoir . When I put the 70 gallons of water and nutrients in the ph was 7.8 for about a hour. Then I unplugged by accident then plugged it back in and the reading jumped up to 10 ph.

Waited a hour and it stayed the same. So I started adding ph down little by little and it never really moved.. so here I am. 3 hours later after I ended up adding 1 whole quart the ph only dropped to 7.1 . Just wondering if this is normal??? 10 ph. 70 gallon reservoir. 1 quart of ph down . 7.1 ph

You need to get some strips or a cheap gh ph kit just to make sure your in the ball park for times like this ...... I'd bet your tester is off that's nuts

Will do. 1st thing in the morning
Yeah just do that before you do anything drastic with those current results. You can usually pick up a GH test kit for around ten bucks or so It's the vile with drops it's not as accurate as the fancy pens but it will let you know close ball park. That way if your pen messes up you have a good back up in these situations for cheap There's the strips also I've personally never used the strips but lots of people do so it's whatever you prefer Good luck
