How’s the 6000k light? Good for veg?
Yes.
My first 600 bulb I didn't realize was a conversion bulb. Although it's MH it is 4000k.
I got a second 600 bulb later for another tent and it was only then I realized. So that bulb is a 6000k.
I like them both. I really can't tell a difference between the two in growth. The 6k is way more blue. I thought the 4k was blue.
They both look really blue compared to my 2100k hps, lol.

I'm hopefully going to retire at least the 600 soon though with an LED.

That one I thought I killed decided to make it to the party. Damn. She's like that person that we invited to something a while back, but then changed our mind and hope she'd forgotten about it, but then she showed up.

I decided to go organic sip in one of my tents. I did my own spin on it. I like 5 gallon buckets, so I used them in my setup. It's pretty simple, One bucket inside of another bucket, with a few modifications to both buckets. I was able to pull this off without even going to the store! lol I have a few tubs of hydroponics stuff from old builds.
I'm going to run the Zkittlez in them.
I used 2" net pots.

I spaced them out 5 per bucket,

I packed soil in each of the holes and then filled up the buckets with soil.
20190303_065054.jpg
I connected all of the bottom buckets together.

I didn't want to fill up buckets by hand, so I put a pump in a separate bucket outside the tent. In the above pic at the bottom left is where it goes through the tent. The open pvc pipe is a vent so that it doesn't siphon.

I obviously wanted to know how much water was in the buckets, so I used this. These are 3ml droppers, I got a pack of 500 one time, they are great for mixing nutes, anyway I used one as a float.
20190303_074651.jpg
At the front of the tent is my water level gauge.
20190303_070247.jpg
When I was filling it up I marked full and fill.

So there it is, the soil is doing its thing while the Zkittlez grow up some. A couple of weeks probably.

That’s nice so do the roots grow through the five 2” net pots down Into the solution at the bottom bucket? Or is it more like the liquid saturates the soil of the top bucket all the way to the top?

The water saturates the soil. SIP is Sub Irrigation Planter, or Self Irrigating Planter. They also sip water, lol.
@Greenthumbs256 has posted a LOT of info on sips. He's the main reason I went sip. I just put a twist on it with my old hydro stuff.

Probably will have to try that one day I actually get what’s going on there pretty much so I’ll look into that guy and figure out how to build one sometime. Extremely cool. Is this your first time doing it this way?

I never knew what SIP stood for, hadnt looked it up, and out of fear of looking like a newb I never asked lol. I’m still figuring things out on my level of things but this kind of thing will come soon.
