Hey Nathen

A combination of light mover, low stress training, root pruning pots and a few other tweaks. Very simple, about 15 minutes of maintenance gardening a day and less than 1 hour total per bucket from cloning to finished Crop Circle Of Bud training.

12 buckets per garden, 2 litres of 4 week (hang/bag/jar) cured bud (almost always 8% to 11% of cut weight, I use a vaporizer and like my bud dry); 60 grams per litre average (I've weighed between 40 grams and 110 grams per litre for: various strains; types of grow (hydro/ pro mix/ low stress/ vertical/ etc); area on the plant harvested (top cola or bottom) - with 75 percent of samples weighting between 60 grams and 75 grams per litre.

The heaviest bud I had was some stringy Kali Mist from the bottom of a hydro vertical plant - 110 grams per litre slightly compressed. The lightest bud I had was the top cola of the same hydro Kali Mist (the size of a 3 litre pop bottle) which was hard and crusty and would not compress without breaking - 40 grams per litre.

There are so many claims and counter claims about yield that I wanted to be very precise in the method of drying and weighing so results could be duplicated - but I really go by volume. I'll help anyone learn to grow 6 gallons of cured bud from medium yield strains like Jillybean under a 600 watt light - 2 litres per 5 gallon bucket; 12 buckets under a 600 watt Hortilux Super HPS. Fairly easy, I did almost 3 litre Ziploc jars per bucket this summer running 6 light / 18 dark to cut down on heat in my attic grow room. I'm adding in Subcool's Super Soil and I'm going to plan my gardening a bit better to yield 1 gallon per bucket, 12 buckets under a 600 watt hps.

In the meantime I'm going to build a 300 watt custom LED that I've design and tested the theory with a light meter, I should be able to at least duplicate my HPS results. The LED elliptical trough reflector and most of the light theory are linked in the thread, I'll be putting up a pictorial on how to build one.

This is all drawn out in detail in my linked thread, below. I'm still committing the entire process to print and I'm sure there are blank places that need to be filled in, but most everything is there now. I'll work through the process with anyone who wants to adopted it to increase their yield, potency and decrease flowering time. Pics included in the thread.

The colas on the plant on the left are 12" to 18"

These plants are from before I added Air Pruning buckets, see the 3 rings on the bucket, 1 bucket.

This Kali Mist is in an Air Pruning bucket, 6 rings, 2 buckets

Strawberry Diesel (sativa pheno) - 38 x 9" to 18" colas

Each of these Strawberry Diesel (indica pheno) have 6'4" of stem and are grown less than 6" above the bucket rim. A CCOB stem does not stetch in flower, more nodes (colas) per linear foot of stem than with a vertical stem. In addition, the branches become the meri stems and are longer than the branches in a vertical plant, more bud per branch (cola).

Jillybean - 38 colas

Those are incredible results. Wish I would have got a 600! I just got my 400 HPS cooltube and set it up. Do you think I can come anything close? great work bro +rep

"I just got my 400 HPS cooltube and set it up. Do you think I can come anything close?"

Absolutely.

With a 400 watt HPS you'll get about 3'x3', 4 x 5 gallon buckets with 18"x18" for each bucket. With a 400 watt stationary light you could yield 1 litre per bucket, 2 with some practice - 250 grams to 500 grams.

With a light mover you will at least double that. 1000 grams of 4 week dried bud (10% of cut weight) is possible with a 400 watt light and light mover, with a few grows practice. Keep your plants short because of the 400 watt HPS: 8" to 12".

Some of my best plants have been 6" tall. These two Strawberry Diesel each produced over 2 litres and were less than 6" tall, very tight to the bucket rim (>16"x16")

.

With a 400 watt light and no light mover your garden would look like this:

.

The Kali Mist on the right has a 4" thick Cola which is over 48" long. My lowest profile plant, produced about 1.5 litres.

Drop into the Grow Lab thread if you'd like to work through the process.

This is my current Jack The Ripper by Subcool, about 3 weeks of flower left. I've ran it a couple of times and I'm not sold on the pheno, I'm going to let this genetic chain go and germ 3 more seeds.

Good lemon smell but not overpowering, like a JTR runt I got from a two sprout seed which was overpowering. The high hasn't been as potent as I'd like. The colas and buds are very small but hard, larger buds than Flo and as hard. This one takes me 10-11 weeks to flower, a week longer than Jillybean "The Candy Store" and two weeks longer than Pandora's Box.

For scale, the metal tomato cage ring is 12" from pro mix to the top ring, about 10" from bucket rim to metal ring. The pop can gives a bit of an illusion because it is in front of the plant, the plant and colas are bigger than the impression given. Very interesting.

I've been running 6 hours light / 18 hours dark for the summer to cut down on heat and to see how the production/flower time goes. Definite reduction in yield, at least 25%, probably more. Weeks longer to harvest. There may be a benefit on grams/watt, half the electricity and 3/4 to 2/3 the yield. Need time to think about this, not sold on 6/18.

The pop can is 4.75" x 2.75", the metal tomato cage ring 12" above the pro mix (12" between rings) and 12" in diameter, the plant has 3 weeks of flower left for swell.

I think I'm in love! You my friend have done something truly amazing. I will be trying your method, it has got to be the only way to go for my set up. I'll drop by your lab and subscribe. Thank you for posting bro

Thanks hybridbuds. I've added some new equipment to the the thread, including The Tommy Gun vaporizer that gives choking size hits time and again.

I wrote this last week.

I'm going to do my own report in another month - my current JTR clone has about 2 weeks of flower left, then a couple weeks cure minimum before I'll touch it - but I wanted to add something because this report gave JTR such a mediocre review.

I clipped a few JTR buds last night and baked them at 106 celcius for 40 minutes. I wasn't expecting much of a high, immature buds and a quick bake cure. I've got a fairly high tolerance as do most growers, I go through about a litre of cured bud a week. I haven't been getting high or stoned in the past few years, just a relaxed clear headed state. JTR took me out of time, I forgot where I was. I couldn't even remember what bud I had vaped to get that high. Trippy and imaginative, very comfortable. A cerebral high, which repeated each of the 7 bowls of JTR I had.

I haven't been that high in a long while, and I didn't keep a clone because I was going to germ 3 new seeds and look for another mother, I have 23 strains growing now. I'll be revegging and ramping up my root clone experiment at harvest time, just a fantastic high. Ripe and cured it's going to be amazing.

.

The most intense high I've ever had.

10 pounds from 1k hps? could you elaborate a bit on that?

2 1k's on each one on its own light mover each one covering a 4x8 set them side by side you have a 8x8 area setup with capacity to produce about 2- 2.5 lb per 4x4 this is not gonna be to hard to acheive light movers effective double your light coverage for 1 light so (1) 1000 = 2 to 2.5lb on a light mover thats 4-5 lbs then another 1000 on a light mover next to it to make 8-10lbs
