Hey Nathen
A combination of light mover, low stress training, root pruning pots and a few other tweaks. Very simple, about 15 minutes of maintenance gardening a day and less than 1 hour total per bucket from cloning to finished Crop Circle Of Bud training.
12 buckets per garden, 2 litres of 4 week (hang/bag/jar) cured bud (almost always 8% to 11% of cut weight, I use a vaporizer and like my bud dry); 60 grams per litre average (I've weighed between 40 grams and 110 grams per litre for: various strains; types of grow (hydro/ pro mix/ low stress/ vertical/ etc); area on the plant harvested (top cola or bottom) - with 75 percent of samples weighting between 60 grams and 75 grams per litre.
The heaviest bud I had was some stringy Kali Mist from the bottom of a hydro vertical plant - 110 grams per litre slightly compressed. The lightest bud I had was the top cola of the same hydro Kali Mist (the size of a 3 litre pop bottle) which was hard and crusty and would not compress without breaking - 40 grams per litre.
There are so many claims and counter claims about yield that I wanted to be very precise in the method of drying and weighing so results could be duplicated - but I really go by volume. I'll help anyone learn to grow 6 gallons of cured bud from medium yield strains like Jillybean under a 600 watt light - 2 litres per 5 gallon bucket; 12 buckets under a 600 watt Hortilux Super HPS. Fairly easy, I did almost 3 litre Ziploc jars per bucket this summer running 6 light / 18 dark to cut down on heat in my attic grow room. I'm adding in Subcool's Super Soil and I'm going to plan my gardening a bit better to yield 1 gallon per bucket, 12 buckets under a 600 watt hps.
In the meantime I'm going to build a 300 watt custom LED that I've design and tested the theory with a light meter, I should be able to at least duplicate my HPS results. The LED elliptical trough reflector and most of the light theory are linked in the thread, I'll be putting up a pictorial on how to build one.
This is all drawn out in detail in my linked thread, below. I'm still committing the entire process to print and I'm sure there are blank places that need to be filled in, but most everything is there now. I'll work through the process with anyone who wants to adopted it to increase their yield, potency and decrease flowering time. Pics included in the thread.
The colas on the plant on the left are 12" to 18"
These plants are from before I added Air Pruning buckets, see the 3 rings on the bucket, 1 bucket.
This Kali Mist is in an Air Pruning bucket, 6 rings, 2 buckets
Strawberry Diesel (sativa pheno) - 38 x 9" to 18" colas
Each of these Strawberry Diesel (indica pheno) have 6'4" of stem and are grown less than 6" above the bucket rim. A CCOB stem does not stetch in flower, more nodes (colas) per linear foot of stem than with a vertical stem. In addition, the branches become the meri stems and are longer than the branches in a vertical plant, more bud per branch (cola).
