K so im about to go to the op and see if i can divert the pring fed creek into my hillbilly contaption. its a really small creek so heres what im gonna try to use. its a 2 liter bottle with the end cut off and at the mouth piece i screwed on a hose fitting that goes into a 1/2 in hose. i cant run it directly to my op cuz its down in a small ravine so im gona have to come up with some sort of holding tank. im thinkin of somethin that fills up but then when its full, the overflow just goes back into the creek so i dont run it dry. any suggestions? think the 2 liter will work?

K guys ive changed my mind on diverting the creek. now im thinkin im gonna dig a nice big hole in the creek so it has a pool of water that i can just scoop water out of with a bucket when i need. i think if i put sand and rocks at the bottom of the pool itll keep it nice and clean. any suggestions or comments?

K even tho it wasnt a very nice post by pumpkinroller it seems like it mite work pretty good. what does everyone think about diggin a hole in the creek bed and then itd be liek a little pond i could take water out of. i figure a hole 5'x5' and 1' deep would 187 gallons. the hole would be 25 cubic feet and 1 cubic foot= 7.48 gallons...25x7.48=187gallons. anybody got any suggestions?

I don't see why you need to dig such a huge hole if it's a flowing stream. You should be able to just dig a hole deep enough to dip a bucket into, and by the time you get back for another bucketful the stream should have filled it back up for you again.

Oh, and don't mind the Pumpkin Guy. I don't think he meant anything by it. He seems like a really decent guy; maybe said something that just came out the wrong way or something. Don't take it personally, most of the people here are really cool.

Lol well its to late i just read your post but today i dug a hole in the creek 5x5 and bout 9 inches deep. your probably right but its pretty cool to have the little pool. ya it would for sure fill back up by the time i got back but o well whats done is done lol. at what point can my seedlings go outside after the last frost. im REALLY worried about them cuz some of them are 5 inches tall and only have like 1 1/2 set of true leaves. today i propped all ofthem up with twigs and have a fan goin lightly on them to try to strenghen them up. but they just wont grow anymore damn leaves!!!

I'd put 'em out as soon as you're past the last frost. Unless you have them under grow lights in the house, they'll just do a hell of a lot better under natural sunlight. Sounds like yours are already getting a little stretchy; what I sometimes do is buy a couple of boxes of chopsticks at the grocery store and use them to support the plant when I transplant it outside. Just use a chopstick as a stake, next to each plant, with a loop made out of a twist tie taped to the top end of the chopstick. Holds the plant upright for the first week or so while it's getting acclimated.
