So what do we do when the number of people outnumber the number of available jobs?
But there are informal full-time jobs ... farmer, housekeeper, child care provider ... they don't draw pay but sure do add value. cnI read a statistic today that said there are +7 billion people and approximately 3.1 billion formal full time jobs
We got companys like Catepillar here In milwaukee moving to other states becuase they cant find enough people to workSo what do we do when the number of people outnumber the number of available jobs?
This seems opposite of today's job market. We got companys like Catepillar here In milwaukee moving to other states becuase they cant find enough people to work
So what are you talking about?
The irony is that, by the standards of 300 years ago, all the inhabitants of the G8 but the homeless are fabulously wealthy. cnThis seems opposite of today's job market.
There are people everywhere out of work right now, plenty of people, the people isn't the problem, the number of jobs for all those people is the problem.
I hear things all the time about how people are poor or out of work because they're lazy or stupid, I thought that point does a good job of illustrating how that's not really the case.
Also
"we can't all be millionaires" expresses the same idea. The solution to the stupid and lazy problem is always 'get smarter and work hard' when if everyone took that advice and we all succeeded, we wouldn't all be wealthy and successful. The advice faces problems from the start to a fabricated issue. I'm positive that's a logical fallacy, I just can't remember which one atm..
Maybe people dont want to move to the frozen tundra to work.We got companys like Catepillar here In milwaukee moving to other states becuase they cant find enough people to work So what are you talking about?
Rather just sit at home and whine?Maybe people dont want to move to the frozen tundra to work.
looks like hell there.Maybe people dont want to move to the frozen tundra to work.
Without reading anything else in this thread, I would fully support a government sponsored employment program.Experience unemployment. I'm unable to provide a deeper answer.
Both the 1930s and the 1130s had gov't-sponsored employment programs ... cn
See, you and I do agree on some things.Rather just sit at home and whine?
heh?
really? Caterpillar is going to move the entire manufacturing facility somewhere else? Seems kind of expensive to do that just so you have an easier time finding workers. How many decades to break even on that one? They must have a 4 year old making the decisions around there. Either that or you are full of shit. My money is on the latter. We got companys like Catepillar here In milwaukee moving to other states becuase they cant find enough people to work

Sullivan noted that Bucyrus, which was purchased by Peoria, Ill.-based Caterpillar Inc. in a deal that closed last year, set up a plant in Kilgore, Texas, in 2009 because it struggled to find welders to fill open jobs. The plant now employs about 200 welders.really? Caterpillar is going to move the entire manufacturing facility somewhere else?
