"People are dumb" Rant thread

So go ahead and rant all you want

I've been working costumer service for a couple of years and it never ceases to amaze me how dumb people are.
Shit! I'm ashamed to say it but where I live there's a channel on TV that's filled with the most stupid things you can imagine...
All programs that have no purpose are on that channel (wipeout, joke shows, dumb reality tv, etc...)

Also, I was talking about the YouTube boob stupidity to my mom the other day...
I was just saying that it's incredible that a women just by showing her cleavage on youtube can make a buck on there and become "popular".
Her answer "men are pigs" *facepalm*
I wasn't trying to say that women are sluts for doing that...just merely trying to illustrate that porn sites are splitting their ass in 2 to get that business...

It seems like people are getting more and more stressed and can't deal with it without being assholes...

It's just the stressed out mentality I found really stupid. Chill out and you'll do better with your problems. And if there's nothing you can really do, thinking about it all the time won't solve it...
My mom's like that, she always takes any notes or comments as an accusation/personal attack. And she stresses over every little thing all the time, even if she can't help it.
And look at her, she's on anti-depressants, blood pressure meds and she has sleep apnea and alcohol and benzo issues.
I bet if people would take the time to relax and loosen their stress load a little, there would be less heart attacks and ACV's and such...

I agree with you 100% I too work in customer service and I deal with alot of stupid assholes. I don't know why everyone is so worked up nowadays either. Is it from all the technology and instant gratification? People have forgotten patience. Everyone feels there issues are so damn important. Everyone needs to just chill the fuck out and smoke a bowl and relax. It's middle aged women that are the worst. In my opinion.

The truth is its not the people that are to blame...it's our stupid way of life. Everyone handles stress differently and if u are unfortunate enough to not have a high threshold for bullshit, u will suffer all the way to ur grave. Life sells us dreams that are not attainable for everyone and people being stressed is a manifestation of the everyday demands placed on us. I've seen many people who are successful throughout life end up depressed and reclusive later on in life because they can no longer juggle their work load and life in general. I think it's about understanding that anyone can end up there and being perceptive and compassionate is important. Everyone is all about themselves nowadays and there is no such thing as compassion as we are all taught to be greedy from early on. I find in general people who don't live among the bullshit hustle and bustle live much more fulfilling lives and are much nicer. Just ma 2 cents...life is about tolerance.

Yeah, well unfortunately most people I deal with arent as enlightened as you are on the subject. I just wish one day a year I could talk to them the way they talk to me and my co-workers. It would be very therapeutic. I myself am pretty laid-back as most potheads should be, but there are still some dumb people out there. This job is only temporary, that's the only silver lining. But it's not just the people I deal with at work. And I disagree, the people are to blame. Everyone knows how to be polite and cordial when dealing with strangers. Some people get off on being assholes. Our way of life may contribute to it, but ultimately they are to blame for being shitheads.

Yes they do need help, but when someone wants to file a complaint for a product being wrapped in "cheap" plastic, and you make them realize it's a stupid complaint cuz they can ask for a plastic bags. But instead of just saying thank you and leaving happy, they decide to file a complaint about something else completely non-related just for the sake of filing a complaint.
I don't get that attitude. To be honnest I don't get why I'd lose my time filing a complaint for such a small problem, losing my time for that? Never!
Also, it's fine if you wanna place a complaint about something, but at least talk to the right person.
Most people complain to the 16yo that just started working there an they get pissed off because the young kid can't help them.
I'm always very friendly and polite with my clients, and I usually never have a problem. But some clients are just so stressed and they take it out on the first person they come across that don't treat them like royalty...
i have to mention that I wasn't brought up that way so that might be why some clients disgust me the way they do...

In general terms your definition of customer service is at a department store or customer support and I don't work for a department store or deal with goods sold. I deal with people enrolling in school and no money is ever exchanged. I didn't "volunteer" to listen to them complain like you assume. There's more than one definition of customer service. Anyway, the job market is shit right now and this job is needed till a better one comes along, but for now I need to work at this job, I have bills to pay. You can't just up and get another job, it's a process. I plan on getting another job because of said reasons. And as far as your smug remark of who's the idiot? The person complaining or the person "volunteering" to listen and "herp-derp" them. I can complain on this forum and you can piss off, orithil.

I worked for tech support. An old lady called me saying someone was hacking her computer as we spoke. I said do u have any firewall, antivirus or anything. She said she doesnt know. Then i asked how do u know u are being hacked. She replies " my computer is doing funny things and i know who is doing it those kids laughing around the corner". Okay and how can i help you today. "i want u to stop them". i was lost for words. Then i said well are u on a protected wireless connection. "No i am at Mc Donalds". Well turn off your laptop and go get protection at a local tech store like best buy, staples and so on and so forth. " no no that is my problem and ia m suppose to fix it because this is our problem". i was like mama we do not protect your computer u have no hardware problems and u dont have a secure computer and in open wifi. I then said want me to fly to u and beat those teenagers up..... I got fired that day

I have friends that I am just brighter than. Not to be arragant but I feel like there are levals of brightness (if that makes any sence...). I have other friends that I feel are on the same leval as me. Maybe it just maturity though. Im eighteen so I hang around imuture teenagers still. Haha...I'm like their leader. I'm high
