Insulates them from the floor! Hot in summer and cold in winter. It helps you get less root zone variation in temps..

They've been saying that for a decade, I have yet to see a LED panel compete with the comparable HID.
They do make awesome veg lights though.

That depends, most floors are cooler than the ambient temp.
There is a guy on here that actually used the cold flooring to keep his temps down, passively.

Ooooo I gotcha, well I'm in the basement the floor stays cool year round. But the room i built is fully insulated and raised up off the cement floor.

At 800$ it seems pricy, but near full output until it dies and a minimum 5 year life expectancy coupled with energy cost reduction it actually ends up being cheaper in long run if it performs

I will say it seems they have come a long ways in the technology over the last couple years. When I'm trimming I can feel the heat and intensity on my head and neck, very compareable to my buddy's 600w HPS. Through all my reading my guess is a slight hit to yield while a good boost in flavor and potency with getting proper ratio of spectrum.

I've already experienced burning from too
Much lumen at 9 inches in distance.

Much light and not heat as I have a laser gun that measures heat at the surface of where ever you pointed and it was never above 80.

Even at 15 I get serious canoeing, so far it's seemed best about 20" away, and during veg I noticed if I brought it about 4 feet away it seemed to add a millimeter of node spacing lol

Hehe, I actually wanted more spacing. I just started flowering and I can tell they are going to have no problem filling the stalk. I never got much of a stretch period that I could tell, maybe I ruined it in the midst of my o2 level problem.

My buddy from same mother is a solid 4 foot tall, but not tight noding like mine, and not even any bud on bottom half. So we will see!

plants that are very bushy many heads can sometimes hardly stretch even if strain prone to at flower first weeks, due to same energy for 1-4 heads, or to 35 heads energy distribution, so each head grow llittle bit take power of what less head would grow tall, short bushy tight node better than tall big internode, for me anyway, it's ok.

Well if you have the setup to utilize it could be beneficial. Ad in maybe add some mid level
Lighting. And there's a happy medium, I would think you want a good root structure to absorb water and nutrient and a thick enough stalk to carry it all. So in my case I am hung in both category's. Where as my buddy although double the length has about half the stock diameter and a 1/4 of the root structure, at least as of 2 weeks ago.

I would agree, I'm thinking based on your lighting and how far it can penetrate is how long you would want your set of internodes your planning on flowering.

It depends on where you are located in the continental US too.
So that's a big factor.
