Overkill???

1 plant 20" tall flowering
250w HPS
4 45w CFLs
70w HPS
grow box 2x2x4

Temp is good at 83 will all lights on

I know it is enough but is it overkill?

Damn man you got what?.......500 watts per one plant! I always hear that the more light the better but not really sure if you could overkill!

No such thing as over kill when it comes to lighting for plants, just over heat lol. Peace

Damn that sucks only 20% of your plants were female I guess you got the short straw on that!

What strain you got? Got any pics of growroom?

sometimes it happens, it is a papaya strain. Can't get a pic tonight as the plant is sleeping I will get one in the morning

Not overkill, you should get some damn nice buds if you continue using all those lights. You might even get enough to pay for your electricity

How did you fix your Heat problem in other post ? I am thinking about adding a 70-100 HPS myself and concerned about heat, using 4-42w CFL now and box is 85 with lights and fans running.

I will suggest this once more. Check out Barrel of Green. Major Toke posted a link to it. It show a system for growing nice bud, in a small space. Check it out.

More light better bud.
If it can take the light without burning it is not too much light.

The heat issue was solved by a cold air intake. it is in the lowest point of the box and I have a bath fan hooked up to a dryer vent hose that draws the air off the cement floor, it is about 10 degrees cooler than the air at 5 feet up. then I have another 80 cfm fan at the top of the box.
