Outdoor pins yall!!!

Hey Crew! Whats happening!? Well after a couple days of rain I went and checked my outdoor patch and BAM! I have pins everywhere!! This was from my previous failed PE grow. I basically took the cakes crumbled them up and made layers of sub, manure, sub, manure and so on, topped it with some dead leaves. Anyways I go out today and notice the pins right? However I notice my biggest pin the middle of the cap is completely eaten out! Looks like someone took a drill bit to the cap n started to drill into it? I think it is slugs. SOOO I took some salt and placed a ring around the grow area. I feel like im now under attack lol! I cant monitor these girls at night when I sleep. I just hope whatever put a hole in the center of my cap will not return. Lets hope the salt keeps them at bay! I feel like im under attack LOL! I will be out there daily now and much more vigilant! I now fear the salt got too close to the grow area, I hope I didnt mess anything up. I hear salt is bad for mycelium? I am so fucking excited! I tried to fruit these PE cakes for like 3 weeks with nothing but frustration. They took about 3 weeks to pin once outdoors and this time around I dont want to mess anything up lol! Damn I am skipping over here!

salt is bad..id remove as much as possible as soon as possible,depending on where you.placed the salt..one shroom isnt worth a war that causes extinction of the whole area..

Done, the salt was pretty far away but I still removed it and replaced it with crushed egg shells. I hear that works aswell :) The shroom that was eaten is now rotting :( turning black, pisses me off bc its fucking BIG! About 2-3 inches tall, oh well, the others will catch on up!

Well I originally put salt around the the outer grow area to keep slugs away, but replaced it with crushed egg shells, it seems the eaten part is now rotting so I assume that mushroom is a gonner.

HA! LAMO! dude that has me rolling! SO FAR SO GOOD THO! NO MORE PINS EATEN! My fiance gets back from her trip tonight. I pick her up at the airport at 9:30 so I will have pics for ya guys tomorrow :). These slugs dont want none!

Possible sign of a melted slugh!? Or do you think he passed threw? I notice no damage to the pins so maybe the salt worked? I replaced the salt bc it seems the egg shells wre too light, wind blew them all over. 046.JPG

Cheers to a whole bunch more pins. Damn, wish I could get some PE prints or syringes here in CA. Don't know if I would go outdoors with them :hump: lol, but having some on hand for a rainy day would sure be nice.

Thank you sir! I originally attemped to put them inside but after 3 weeks and no pins I decided to put them outside. I am birthing 3 Albino A+ cakes today :)

haha yeah man, who made up that term for taking a cake out of the jar? Just giving birth to these bad boys! Thank you Canndo, I am glad you liked the pics :) I cannot wait to see them mature. They are only getting 4 hrs of light a day, 7-11 am which is direct sun then it s pure shade from then on. Do ya think thats enough light?

most mushrooms grow in areas where the light us dappled or occasional. Font worry about light, they do not need it but for direction and trigger, which has been done.

if your temps are in the mid 70 ot higher you will be picking them in a day ot two.

Awesome! We been having some COLD assn nights lately. That damn polar vortex shit from the northpole sending its cold front back down here has made the last 3 days 65-70 and 50-55 at night! I think today/tonight is the last day of this abnormal weather :)
