Ganj Father, you are the man for this one! this forum needed a grower like you. SOG is the shit! Im trying to get a perpetual harvest like you too. trying to average two pounds a month so I can split my flowering into two stages for the monthly and four stages for bi-weekly correct? i have 2 600w HPSs for flowering and havent purchased any new lights for my vegging (was using simple t-12s to grow mothers.) I plan on buying a 400w MH though for vegging and cloning. I like the coco stuff, what do you use for the clones though? couldnt make it out. also, you say 16 plants per stage to grow into approx a pound. how much room do these 16 plants take up? to make myself more clear, how much room do they truly need to get the max growth out of them? you say 6" pots, does this mean 4 per square foot so only 4 square feet per section? i have a 5' by 5' closet with ample vertical space. Im trying to keep this my flowering area and have another area for clones and mothers. im really interested in your input and think i can make a sweet setup with your knowledge. so basically how much room do you need to yield a pound per two weeks? thanks a lot my man.

thanks big guy, I appreciate the propps! let me see if I can be of any assistance here... let me first start off by saying that yield is DIRECTLY AFFECTED by certain things that need to be taken into acct... first off the strain you choose must reflect the type of yield your trying to produce, basically connasure strains like blueberry or strawberry cough aren't going to meet the needs of someone trying to make a quick cash crop. the next important factor, is the grow room environment, if you've done your studying you know all about temp, humidity, CO2 etc. if not, search some of the old forums, the info archived here on RIU is invaluable. I would say maybe the key factor is skill and experience. don't start your first crop with the intention of pulling in massive weight, or you could potentially dissapoint yourself. start off with the intention to learn, and to be taught, because cannabis has a lot to teach those willing to learn... I guess this is my way of saying, be prepaired for the worst, and hope for the best. you may fail once but that failure will come with much to learn from.

ok, now for the fun stuff! with your space, and equipment available a 2 cycle bloom room should suit your needs. a 5x5 bloom room is 25 sq ft, the 2 600w HPS will light your space adequately, your lookin at about 48w per sq ft. you of course will want to keep your light as close as possible without burning your tops, and your room very cool, those 2 ballasts are going to put off a lot of heat. I use a powercloner 70pod station, I have 100% rooting in about 14 days. the 400w MH should do you for veg, what's your veg space? you can flower your plants whenever you feel comfortable, I would suggest start flowering at no more than 20", and "lollypopping" the bottom portion of the plant. that forces/allows the plant to focus all its growth to become a phat top. at the risk of being called a sales promoter, go here, www.canna-uk.com its got all the info of the line I use. I also use a couple more additives that I outlined in the beginning of this thread. well, I probably said a lot and a little, I hope this helps a little. let me know!

hey ganj father.
gonna have to shut down my room for a while because of a security breech the people that know about my room....actual owners of the room had a tenant stumble/sneak into it so were shutting it down after these plants finish this last 2 weeks of flower were seizing up op and evicting him on other reasons (but for this one. he just KEEPS snooping around). we have several clones we are going to keep as mothers at an unrelated location.... and when we open shop back up i wanna make a sog perpetual style.
i have pots that are waste cooking oil containers (square 5 gallon size and about 9 square inches. I only have a 400 watt hps right now for flower, so im thinking a 4'x4' are would be all im gonna be able to cover with it...... which leaves me 192 square inches of light space to use. divided equally by 10" to accomadate for only estimating the pots sizes....=19.2
so id be safe to go with about 15 plants? i think that would be pushing it just a bit but i can accommodate some light with side lighting using fluro tubes i have.

ok so what is the best way to get the best yield in this space? im using soil right now so i figure maybe 16 plants in a 2' x 4' space, times two. can i get a pound from 16 plants if i vegg until like 10"? how can i get a pound in this perpetual?

in my opinion your going to need more room for 32 plants than a 4x4 space..... the measurements you gave us leaves 6inches of space per plant not even accomodating for room to move amongst them and tend to them
and if you pull an ounce per plant you would have to harvest 16 plants every time around. so if the strain takes exactlly 8 weeks to finish then that would be 64 plants in each cycle......
other wise not possible to be done on one harvest with less than 1000+ watts of light.

Ganja Father... This thread and your experience
is fully welcomed by me, and your setup is excellent!
Keep up the good work and I will be paying attention.

Kochab: that sucks about your spot.
Good luck on the next room!

EDIT: Lot's of people say that they will be watching
or paying attention and I always read it weird... like
"I'm watching YOU!" But I know that's not how it's
intended. That's also not the way I intended either.
Good words and great grow!

The pictures don't show a flood tray or drip tubes, so do you just water Canna coco-grown plants with the Canna coco nutes like you would water reguar soil potted plants, when the top of the medium is dry?

How do you water/feed all the individual pots in a time-efficent way?

Will the Canna nutes go rotten if used in an ebb & flow system?

Many thanks in advance!
