Chernobyl has proven it's mold resistance for meAny other valley people with promising strains for outdoor here in our rain forest?
Have you found a difference in the high from plants that were taken down early?Well, 2019 outdoor is a wrap for me. What a fucked up September. The storm that blew through 10 days ago did it for me so they all came down -- fully 3 weeks before I had to cut last year.
I saw something that said the majority of the market (as a profit center) is daily users with high tolerances, so cannabis is largely being bred for high THC levels, but often this is at the expense of a balanced profile.
Other than potency, I can't say that I've noticed much difference, although, I've only tasted a couple of samples of this summer crop since I still have a some left from my spring grow. The lowered potency is what I notice most. My nightly cookie contains ~2 g of decarbed bud which was sufficient to assuage my insomnia and regulate my appetite if from my hydro crops that are allowed to "finish." The immature crop from this summer, though, takes about 1.3 cookies to do the trick. Obviously anecdotal, but draw you own conclusions.Have you found a difference in the high from plants that were taken down early?

Exactly. A balanced cannabinoid profile with high THCV and CBD is what I want, not the THC focussed strains that everyone clamors for.xtsho: said:Not everyone is looking for the same thing
My first foray into female seed production was more successful than I anticipated. I used STS to choke a Durban Poison female into producing pollen and dusted a second Durban, a Jorge's Diamond, and a Med OG Kush. This is half the haul just from the Durban plant:

Needless to say, I should have plenty of female seeds for the foreseeable future.
I'm thinking a mid-valley meetup might be in order come Nov or Dec. We could pick a centrally located brewpub or other appropriate venue. I'm more than happy to share my fem seeds with others willing to share. Anyone else think this would be cool?
You're not alone. I have my ACDC slow walking toward the finish line. I hope to cut it down before Halloween. And like you, I've been blessed with an absence of worms and rot.I'm still hangin' in there- haven't seen any PM, budrot, or caterpillars, but I have been dealing with some kind of stem rot in 4-5 stalks on my BCC which I cut out and am drying. I'll probably pull it down next weekend. My Chernobyl is almost black from the cold, but is unaffected by mold or bugs- it needs ~ 2 weeks to really finish but the forecast is for several days of rain so who knows how that'll work out.
I wanted a high THCV IBL with short flowering time, so went with Dutch Passion. Seems like you also like to grow African sativas so I'd be interested in your preferred breeding strains. What genetics were the Durban?
Cool. Hopefully others will chime in and we can pull something together.xtsho said:And count me in for a meet up. I'm always looking for a reason to go out and pound an IPA or two.

One of the best strains I've grown indoors and out was LSD, which is Mazar I Sharif x Skunk #1. I'm not sure if that's on your wish list, but recreating that cross would be amazing. Everything about LSD was impressive - it was a robust mold resistant plant, that smelled great and had huge frosty colas. Anyway, it sounds like you have done lots of research and have some goals in mind, I just couldn't resist sharing that...I've got some of their Mazar I Sharif going and I'm hoping for a stellar male to collect pollen from.

Hat-tip to you folks who've kept 'em healthy this long. Nice colors, too.Well, according to the weather forecast, we're rain free in Portland for the next 10 days at least. I put little trust in forecasts, but it is what it is. I still have the one plant left, I'll call it Steve.
