After a few weeks in the locker this years buds are looking great... I grew out five strains all from fem seeds this year.. I enjoy the variety much more than quantity... so next year I'll be doing one outdoor plant each of 8 different strains ... I just went black friday bananas on the seed banks and have about 20 brand new strains on the way ... if there's one thing I learned this year, it's that once the conditions are all dialed in, it's all about genetics from there. Last year I placed one order through seedsman and just went with what I could find there.. for next year I've done a lot more research and ordered strains from some interesting looking breeders... exotic, joti, sin city, and Inhouse to start .. I'm hoping to get some wild shit next year... anyway, here's the final report for 2019 outdoors....
LSD (Barney's) (
Original Skunk #1 X Afghan Indica) .. lime green, real smooth, mellow smoke... the breeder says they named it LSD because it has an almost hallucinogenic, trippy effect ... lol, not quite, but it does knock you on your ass quickly .. the buds were fluffy when cut but have tightened up nicely in cure... but not rock hard. Smell is mostly citrus with a little tiny bit of skunk piss in there... the skunk is definitely more noticeable in the smoke.

Blue Funk (Expert Seeds) (
Blueberry X Cheese) .. this plant pissed me off throughout most of the the grow.. it was always showing signs of deficiencies no matter what I tried, clawing and Mg deficiency especially... it just never seemed healthy... once in flower for a bit I ended up liking this one a lot more... in the garden it had a super strong smell like blueberries wrapped in antonio browns jockstrap ... now in the jar a few weeks it's all blueberry.. best smeller in the garden this year

Sweet Zkittlez (Royal Queen) (
Grape Ape X Grapefruit) .. This is another plant that pissed me off through veg... it was always the tallest fastest growing plant, and got wonky lopsided (prob my fault) .. it flowered the slowest too with unimpressive cola's throughout most of the grow .. the last 2-3 weeks of flower the buds turned beyond purple, almost black, but buds never had a ton of smell in the garden ... after hanging for almost 2 weeks these buds were so dense and sticky I could have easily balled them up like a snowball... brutal to trim ... now the smell is the most unique I've ever smelled ... it's hard to describe but it kind of smells like a new leather jacket, with the pockets stuffed with burnt cherries.... or something like that, it reminds me of an old school barbershop... the smell is so strong now you have to look out when you open a jar... the nugs have cured up amazing, and they're like little granite balls ... I could probably tee one up and hit it 300 yds easy

Jack Herer (Seedsman Freebie).. didn't expect much from this one.. grew out two of them, one in the ground, and the other in a 15 gal pot.. they looked and smelled the same throughout the grow... the one in the ground probably stretched 2x... but they ended up smelling different after dry and cure.. one of them smells incredible, best described as ripe grapefruit... it's intoxicating.. the other is slightly different, more like an unripe grapefruit and not as strong ... one of the best smokes of the season though

Galaxy (Pyramid Seeds) (
Afghani X Northern Lights).. I grew this last year and it did pretty well.. last year the buds were a little fluffier, but I wasn't in a greenhouse then and I think they came down a couple weeks early... this year they're tighter buds but the smell isn't anything special ... kind of a weak skunky, gym sock smell ... reminds me a lot of Northern Lights, which I've grown quite a bit of, but ended up retiring it in search of better strains....The smoke is pretty good and all around better than anything the dispensaries are putting out... but I think this one will be getting retired as well, there's nothing unique enough, or that stands out, to make it worth an outdoor box moving forward.
