Opinion Wanted - Vertical Grow System

The light doesn't come from the top of the plants it comes from the center. The reason you can have so many plants is the angle at which they reach for the light. The problem with lights is that they don't have enough penetrating power. See, the sun has tremendous penetrating power and it works great in nature, grow lights, not so much.

These systems are designed in such a way that the angle created allows for a lot of plants to "see" the light without shadowing each other. Plants grow one on top of the other, but the light comes from the center, not the top.

These setups are used by professional growers, and I don't mean our type of growing, all of the time. Lots of fruits and veggies that you eat are growin in these things. It's a widely accepted method of indoor growing.

***I see your delemma. It all depends on how tall (how long u veg) you allow your plants to get. It is possible to double or even tripple the # of plants grown in a limited space by using this type or a similar circular set up w/ lights in the center. Starting w/ clones from your female mom, Flip the lights to 12 & 12 after only 2 days. I wouldnt try 224, but you could easily tripple what I get off my ebb n flo type table of 40 (8'x8') x2 1000hps =approx. 4 lbs in close to 50 days. weather its worth the added hassle,(?) I doubt it with the hassles of steralization and clean up in between harvests. I have 1-2 days down time in between. Using a sea of green 1 rm & a closet. Good luck. R.Kronik

there are products on the market now that you can spray on the plants that will turn them from veg to flower without them growing any larger in size so that is no longer an issue. the rotation has a squatting affect on the plants and makes em naturally more dense then usual so you will likely need 1 to 2 weeks before they are the right size to optimize a wheel

Haha omega, always pimping off that system huh... quite the business man

Quinny, why do you want to spend so much cash on these systems? I would just put shelves on the walls and stack plants in soil on the shelves. It's great way to max out a small space while still experimenting with growing.

oh man see if you can talk to someone that has operated one of those units and you might be able to avoid making that mistake.

you can get one for less then 1000 bucks used on craigs list. the shipping will hurt.

used to be lots of threads on overgrow back in the days and no one was ever happy with one of those.
