Pics from day 54,not much of a change. The tops of the plants are very close but the lower half has a big advantage on the RW side, bigger and denser.

ecent. How much longer before the heads start coming off? A week or two?

Does anyone else ever read CaptainMorgan's posts and think of Homer Simpson's voice while reading through the text? I'm not smoking I swear bongsmilie

Both looking excellent captain! The rw seems to be looking a little thicker all around, I would have thought the extra 70 watts in the onyx would be in the lead.Do you think its more of the red spectrum from the rw?

imo its the extra blue/wider spectrum and the bigger footprint ...but its hard to know for sure

Nice! Looks like you have confirmed what I've been saying as far as efficiency of wattage goes with the lights RW>XGS>Onyx. I'd think the SGS is equal or slight +/- that of the RW. Probably closer to equal though. Might have to hit you up about your CXAs. Considering a CXA build ~300W or so and moving to a 4x4 tent with that, the XGS and the RW-150.

BlackStar is still the best.

Ouch...I think those frosted optics didn't help much. Score one for a little red stimuli. Now I feel better about my red fetish. Onyx should have at least matched yield with the extra power..

I would have liked to veg a little longer but went ahead with flower because the plants were so close in size and structure and sacrificed yield for having them as close to identical as possible.
I'm most surprised that the lower growth on the RW plant was larger and more abundant, which is where the difference in weight came from considering I think the Onyx's very top buds were slightly larger than the RW's.
I would have thought that the Onyx having higher wattage LEDs and pulling more wattage at the wall would have the advantage with penetration but it looks like the RWs spectrum out performed the Onyxs power.

Something's up with the onyx. The optics are probably sucking the life out of the light. Maybe bad bins...too low a kelvin..

I thought xml l2 were quite powerful compared to anything else I'd used. Did .7 and .8 g/w relatively easy.

New test with optics off?

that sounds like a difference in the much smaller focused footprint with the onyx. I have a grow onyx and had to raise it way up to get enough spread to reach all the way around. Orignially got it to veg with, but my veg spaces don't have enough vertical space, so its in my flower room with 9' ceilings.
