Just started growing my 4 legal plants here in Ontario but can’t help but ask whats the punishment if I decide to grow 6 or even 8 plants? Do the cops even care?
Anybody have any knowledge about this? Is it a slap on the wrist with a small fine or will I be doing hard time…which I doubt being in Canada after all. Just curious as I would like to flower 4 plants but clone 4 new plants for my next grow.

Depends man. Could be a fine or if they 'prove' you are selling eg you have baggies or a scale even you could face up to 14 years in jail. Just stay legal man be happy you can grow at all. Or talk to your dr and get an acmpr.

Lol, you think they will give out 14 years for someone having 4 plants over.
I bet he wouldn't get 14 years if he had 10000 over the limit.
Don't think he's importing cargo containers of herion...just busting balls, don't mean to offend
Pretty sure it's a fine
That being said if you got caught selling pounds you could get jail time I guess, in no chance 14 years and could and most likely would be probation and that's if your caught selling it.

Remember they would have to bring this shit in front of a judge, I could imagine how pissed off they would be if the cops wasted everyone's time and money to try and prosecute someone for growing 4-6 plants over. They would get chewed the fuck out

Would you gamble your freedom?
Some towns might have some people in power who don't like weed.
14 yrs? Prob not. But personally I wouldn't risk it. I'm totally legal and I don't go over my acmpr limits. Maybe I'm just getting old? Lol
Personally I wouldnt tell anyone to do something illegal. Stay in your limits and if you want more than go to your dr and ask for acmpr. Or risk it for the biscuit. I just don't understand why you would when there's options to stay legal that are simple.

Rofl gamble your freedom on 4 plants that would be a fine?....ok
Yes you should just get your acmpr, but don't tell the person they ate going to gobto jail for something that is a fine. That's ridiculous, it would be probation IF you got caught selling pounds.
14 years is a joke, he probably still wouldn't get 14 years even if they caught him importing the cargo Container full of heroin. Have you ever dealt with or no anyone who dealt with the court system in Canada?
Jesus man if your a pedophile you get like 2 years in jail for raping little kids, it's a God damn joke
But ya 14 years for 4 plants...smh

What will your defense be?
"I didn't like the law and I shook my head at"?

For the record "whataboutism" isn't a valid defense

He asked what the penalties are. That's the penalties. I'm not here to argue whether you'd get a fine or jail time. That's up to the cops and judge. There are municipalities where the people in charge are still opposed to cannabis. There's also other factors to think about. Let's say your house burnt down. Not even due to the grow. For some other reason. Well let's say they determined you were over plant limits somehow. Now your insurance can and most likely will refuse to pay. Everyone determines their own risk/reward. If you think that it's worth it then all the power to you.
Telling someone to do something illegal and not to worry about the penalties is foolish 18 year old thinking. There are way to many easy options to remain on the legal side in Ontario.

Unfortunately if you grow any cannabis plants in your home your insurance is voided...sorry to be the bad guy.
I already said yes he should get his acmpr, it's easy your are 100 % right.
But don't tell him there's a chance at 14 years in prison that's just ridiculous

Thank you for all the comments. I’m pretty sure it would only be a slap on the wrist but still I don’t need the hassle. Only reason I was thinking of it was because its easier to clone than to buy and start seeds. New to this but ideally it would be better to clone once near the end of flowering but I don’t think that is possible…does cloning have to be done in the veg stage?

On the other hand if it’s only a $200 to $300 ticket then thats really not a big deal…and saves me a lot of time and doubles my output.

I’d say it’s on a case by case basis. If the cops and judge feel like being pricks that day then up to 14 years is the penalty. Believe it or not, I really don’t care. I’m not risking losing my house, car etc

Acmpr is free for up to 19 indoor plants, plus you are still allowed the legal 4.

With a acmpr you’re allowed to carry up to 150g anywhere in Canada. Storage is unlimited weather you are acmpr or just a rec grower.

The feds aren't going to be kicking down your door for having 4 clones of the 4 plants your already growing. Not sure why these guys think Johnny law is busting down the door of any person that goes a couple plants over the limit. I have friends who have like 30 in the backyard, guess they are going to get life in prison...lol
