Old School Skunk and Pine

My smoking career started in the late 70s as a teen then quit for a long time. I am interested in some old/new school genetics. I've always loved super skunky and piney weed. Lookin for any new new-old genetics that have the flavor and aroma and a good high is a plus too. Got any recommendations for some seed co. / breeder that can fill my needs. So many strains these days. So many breeders & seeders I don't know where to start.

What's your favorite skunk / pine? I want to fill my grow room with that stinky love.
The old school Christmas tree..no one gets it..they all try to mimic it,but its not happening...all you get is pine Sol smell...I'm talking about, go cut down a white pine, wait a day,and smear the sap from the cut under your nose..THAT pine...
cannot find it to save my life...

There are immensely piney plants in OG lines in my experience. I guess it's probably different than what people expect though, there are rank undertones and some lemon. But a lot of the pine terpene is there.
The pine under notes in the s.c. blue dream is close as I can find..everyone says og,but that's what my previous post was about...

They have all been tried numerous times and generally get shot down in threads like this one.
So basically, nope, none of them. But all are good, stinky strains.

I had to do a double take. I thought I might have posted this and forgot. Right up my alley and I have made this exact post elswhere I'm sure. Swazi skunk(skunk#1x swazi) is one suggestion I would make. Big pine flavor very similar to old school stuff we used to call christmas tree nugs. and I got 20 ounces from 3 indoor plants. The golf ball sized nugs would show up right around christmas time for two maybe three years around the mid 80's then vanished. Skunk vanished not to long after that. I never have got a good skunk ever since but the swazi was pretty piney. Seedsman seeds. I did flower it for 99 days though. I do grow in soil from seed organically with nothing but water and soil. I have read this can effect taste. So if your in a hurry dont bother but I am never in a hurry. I prefer a long flower.

A privately bred line. It's crossed with a Haze that was bred in Tuscon for over 20 years before the guy who bred it got arrested (pure haze) - he passed on some seeds to an old friend after the fact to keep the line going. Friend crossed it to ghost. I have F2's of those.
Sounds like the pine is coming from the Haze I think it was Mango Haze that had this really piney tasting pheno.

I was just handed a bag of 100 beans that said stable skunk on it dated from mid 80s through late 90s. Among many other old school beans. Just posted about it yesterday. I would part with a few for your cause if you journal it .as I'm not in position to run anything at the moment.

Here in Ky, the real true old school skunk traits are still being bred quiet heavily... Have personally grew some out (outdoors) that if you put literally a gram in a double zip bag and laid it in the console of your car it would smell just like running over a fresh dead skunk and the smell would reside forever!

My belief is since Ky is such an anti marijuana state these local old school growers keep using the same genetics and breeding with them year by year due to the trouble of getting these newer hybrids and such into the state. Don't get me wrong, its easy to order seeds but I know plenty of old men around here been growing the same shit since the 70s and 80s and still making a good living off of it... I have encountered several different true skunks that you guys speak of and some with slightly different backgrounds, from burnt rubber, pine, sweet, floral and peppery skunk to just flat out make you want to barf skunks... same taste on the inhale as well with a super red eye effect and warped sense of reality... but all you can do is laugh at everything while trying to keep the cotton fields in the mouth watered down....

The only strain I have personally ever ordered that has had a close resemblance of smell is Critical Plus... it had an extremely strong pine smell like pinesol (not a sweet pine) with fresh skunk spray and a tad bit of rotten fruit.

And just to be clear, I know this new dutch hybrid skunk smell that is in everything now days, know it well... And the skunks I speak of are nothing like that, totally different. I remember one guy told another one time (when I grew some of the old skunk outdoor) that he believed a slunk had sprayed the buds or someone had seriously killed and rubbed a dead skunk on the plants... that is a true story, believe it or not.

Lots of Mexican weed smells like straight pine and has a Christmas tree shape. Mexicans have different lines including fuel, pine, skunk, lemon and sour. Pine with afghan gives a skunk aroma. Also hindu kush with pine does also.

KY is not an anti pot state. We have lax pot laws and growers are slapped on the wrist the first time.

Hemp is legal now and pot is right behind it.

I agree about the road kill still being here. It grows well here. A lot of the old growers grow it here.

Yea KY is not really pro pot but compared to other states it is not that bad. Some states one plant can carry a five year mandatory sentence. Four plants is a misdemeanor here.
