Oil filled radiator

Do I need to keep my oil filled radiator inside my tent? Or Will it work outside of the tent? (I'm new to L.E.D growing and I'm trying to keep my temps up) I've got an inkbird controller and I'm not sure where to put that either. it seems like a lot to have a oil filled radiator and humidifier in my 4x4 tent, it's taking up a lot of space. Won't it burn the plants if they get too close to the oil filled radiator in veg stage if it's inside the tent?
Any help is appreciated, cheers guys :blsmoke:

Im not sure. What size and shape is it?
I wouldn't have it too close to plants.
It'll be ok in there when the plants are small and you've room to manoeuvre.
Maybe you could hang it up higher in the tent and have a fan blowing down on it. Safety first of course. Make sure it's secure.
What are your current temps?

It's pretty big, it's like a normal 2,000 watt radiator and I don't have it running yet bro, I'm still getting everything setup :bigjoint:

I’d keep it outside the tent. Best way to control your tents environment is to control the room it’s in. You could run it off an inkbird temp controller too.
Yeah I think that's what I'm going to do dude, I might set it up in the tent to start with and see how I get on and if they get too big I might have to put it outside of the tent. I guess I've just got to dial it in and adjust things accordingly :)

I would say keep it outside the tent and control the environment in the room. The tent will draw air in from the room regardless of what you have setup in the tent. Use all the space in your tent for the girls and circulation so they can breathe. I have my humidifier about 12" away from the intake to the tent and the air gets sucked right in by the fan. Just make sure you have a good exhaust fan to draw the air in.

Be careful with the inkbird controller, they are only rated for 1200w. Ask me how I know lol. Anyways just run it on medium or low depending on watts. I have run small heater in the tent and run a radiator style inside my grow room now.

Yeah I totally noticed that on the eBay advert I purchased it from, I will just keep it on the 1,000 watt setting :) I purchased a powder fire extinguisher just in case :) The only problem I have got is there is a little light on my oil radiator do you think it will affect the plants while they are in the dark? There is a little light on my Rhino fan that's connected to my carbon filter also, I'm scared it might cause them to hermie

Hang it up with rope ratchets, I have mine pretty close to plants and they’re fine just move plenty air around it. The inkbird sensor should be covered from light and at canopy height, the light warms up the sensor and gives dodgy readings.

or this might be of use to youhttps://www.londongrow.com/products/ultra-flat-heater?variant=39267017556052&gclid=Cj0KCQiAjc2QBhDgARIsAMc3SqTP8ofXyv5TWhwY10LdzLrUinHMLJ7UuPKF8FFtIXcnCzy7n5lU4wMaAurhEALw_wcB

Hope this helps

Also use duct tape or cloth tape or some ingenious way of covering up those lights, it can cause self pollination. Not to say I didn’t go nearly a year with a red light on my fan controller in the room and never noticed any funny business but that was probs just luck

You don't want any light in the tent after lights out so you can grab some electrical tape and cover them up or drill them out with a small drill bit and crush the bulb with a small screwdriver caveman style. Besides intersex issues it can cause delayed flowering and leaf mutations in sensitive genetics. A lot of strains go right through it without a hickup if it's just a tiny red power dot like for an extension cord, but then you get the one that is not as stable and miss a nanner and ruin a bunch of work so it's just easier to ensure total dark in my opinion. Good call on a fire extinguisher, always good to have a plan.

It's going to depend on where you're tent is located. If it's in a room that the heater will heat then you can have it outside the tent. If it's in an unheated garage like mine is then you need it in the tent as it likely won't heat up the space enough. Inside the tent it will raise the temp even with an exhaust fan running.

I use one inside the 4x4 during the winter. I don't have a controller I just use the built in thermostat. I have it adjusted so it kicks on when the lights go out. I don't bother covering the indicator light. It won't cause hermies.

Spot on man I agree. Other than the covering the light part but I’m super anal about lights in my grow room lol

When we did our buildout, you're required to have "EXIT" signs above every door. Well, these fucking signs are red at night. So I slipped out the film from the frame, and spray painted it black. The inspectors are only going to be there during lights on, so they can't tell the difference LOL!
