It was helped along by the regulators ignoring the blatant illegal actions of the few and powerful.

I found this insulting to a great deal of the people in this country and have brought this to the attention of the Mods to be closed.

This is exactly what I was saying regarding the SEC in an earlier post. The SEC is but one example. Our govt. is rife with regulatory bodies who are 2 cozy with the industries they are supposed to oversee. If people can't see this then there isn't a whole lot I else I can say.
