We have lost thousands of soldiers fighting the Iraqi people for way too long, they have proved that they do not want us there, and our continual killing of their citizens (over 1million of them are dead now) it is hurting more than helping at this point.

It is a good idea for our soldiers to be able to take a less hands on approach to Iraq. Getting them out of the way is not a retreat no matter how much your stupid ass thinks that it is. We cannot hold their hands forever, we did our part back when the "Mission Accomplished" sign went up and Saddams statue came down.

It's very honorable and courageous to step up to the line and offer your services to the war effort in Iraq, but I'm just not for idiotic, never ending wars like Vietnam that will only result in casualties and failure.

The war will never end if we keep on fighting. I do agree though that we need some time to slowly back out, we can't just pull out super fast (even though Obama said a while ago they'd already be out of Iraq) :rollseyes:

A female friend who got medical school paid for by the navy did tell me she didnt care she just wanted the free school and dint think shed reall be in a war but she signed the contract.....so yeah its not like its a holiday but they knew what military was about and they did it for thier country no questions asked they were told america needs you here and they went. Pulling troops out before they CAN complete their mission is demoralizing. When they say "were done"... then you bring them back.

I agree, but what more can we do in Iraq? I say that we need to listen to the Generals, and give them all the support that they request to do the job, but what job are we doing there anymore?

Shouldn't we allow them at this point to start fighting the battle, since it is no longer a government entity, we are now fighting the citizens there, not a government entity.

And to the military on this board, why would you be upset if the people that are dying are no longer our people? Shouldnt this be a good time to set out of an active combatitive role in Iraq. How else could we possibly win without killing every single person over there that is willing to pick up a weapon to defend themselves, even if they don't really understand why they are defending themselves?

I am not one of the welfare people. I am actually one of the higher tax brackets.

So I am talking about my paying more, not you. I know what it is like to not have insurance for 10 years because it is costing me 200 bucks a month in insurance, and that is better served to go towards paying for my house. I have worked damn hard to get to where I am and to where I am going.

The facts are that you have no stance other than anti Obama, when you don't even know the facts about what he is doing, everything that you listen to and read is bending the facts to the breaking point and others is simply making them up as they go.

That is why the military personal are so awesome of a force. They can do their job and put their faith in that what they are told to do is what needs to be done. But it doesn't mean that they NEED to be there, Sadam is dead, and it is time to pass the torch to their people.

Iraq is not The United States of America V2. What would you think if China and Russia invaded America and destroyed the Capital building, you may think that it is a good thing since you are so against this administration.

But if they then stayed and tried to force you to become their constituants, you would then pick up the fight to push them out so we can rebuild as we want, not what they want.

That is where we are at today.

I spout things that I have learned and not just through internet sites and news. And I am a economics student so have a very good grasp of how economics work.

There was a president between Clinton and Regan, Bush. Clinton got into power because 1st a split vote between Bush and Perot, and 2nd because the recession from '87 to about '92. Which was happening when Clinton came in. So if Trickle down economics was so great why was that happening?


The economy is in the shitter. The fact that things are getting better simply means that it is slightly less shitty right now then it was a few months back when the system was about to melt.

Republican tactic #317: Act like someone said something stupid to discredit them, even when they have stated several times the complete opposite.

Private sector does generate the best efficiencies, because they have the most to lose or gain for doing things as inexpensive as possible.

But the government can use those efficiencies that are in place and copy it while cutting out the 40% profit that the other companies want to carry and cut further the advertising, and do it at a much lower cost.

And as in love with private businesses that I am, when they fail to do what they are should do, I think that the government should step in and make sure that the citizens are taken care of. And if the millions of americans that cannot/have not gotten health insurance and hence affordable health care, because of those profits, the government has the right to step up and set up the systems to do so.

Instead of blaming the government for this, I put it on the private insurances for not doing something earlier so that the government didn't have to.
