K.I.S.S (keep it simple stoner)….....Resisting the impulse.....
One of the most rewarding aspects of using super soil, besides the incredible dank it produces, is no more god damn bottles! The trepidation for a grower preparing himself to make the switch to a water only system is understandable. In this industry, we are constantly bombarded with the “more is better” mantra......and the commission driven sales reps in the grow shops don't make things any easier (another story, another time)......We are accustomed to leaving the shop with arm loads of different concoctions, one to do this, and two to do that.....and as the shopping cart gets heavy, our wallets get much, much lighter. But that wasn't the thing that bothered me the most, I never had a problem spending money on my hobbies, especially this one.....it was the utter confusion it caused.....isles and isles of shiny colorful bottles of shit that somehow, some way, if I were to use them just right, would enable me to produce the biggest, fattest, most potent buds ever grown in the history of man-kind!.....good luck newbie.
The main reason I wanted to write this, is because I see growers make the switch to super soil physically, but still hold on to the “more is still better” mentality. I know, it is a hard one to let go of.....trust me, I have just recently broke free myself.....if you analyze the thought process, it is kind of amusing really....”i am going to go water only for the first time with Sub's super soil recipe, but I am pretty sure if I add a little dash of this here, and a couple of dashes of this over here, and this expensive potion that the kid at the grow shop was the “fucking bomb”.....i will be able to grow even better meds then Sub himself!”....see what I mean....kind of silly.
Super soil is designed to take all the guess work and confusion out of the process of growing dank........it includes everything a plant will need through its entire life cycle. Imho, the line of diminishing returns is extremely fine! And in my experience, when I tried to add shit, my returns began to diminish immediately....my advice to growers switching over is to resist the impulse of adding anything. Run it “as is” for a few runs to at least establish a baseline before making any tweaks....... you will be pleasantly surprised by the results. It not only grows dank herb, but your wallet will be thicker, and you will be spending a lot less time in the grow shop, and much more time with your lovely ladies.....like my good buddy always says, “the best fertilizer is your own shadow”....truth!.
Happy Growing,
