Hi!,
So I may take the cake for the most amateur and lame "grower" here, if you can even call it that. I'm just trouble shooting and learning so any help is great. I was walking to my car a couple weeks ago and wind up finding a little plant about 6-8 inches growing right outside of my local bank in it's garden. I swooped in that night and dug it up to transplant back home. Got home and threw the plant/root in a glass of water to keep it alive until I could get some soil to put it into. It spent about 24 hours in the glass of water and seemed totally fine. Wound up getting some organic pre-mixed, ready to go outdoor potting soil from the local Home Depot. I used the only pot I had which is a small flowerpot and know that needs to be upgraded big time. Anyways, after transplanting, all the leaves went droopy and limp. I watered adequately but don't think too much...and seeing how it looked to be just fine sitting in nothing but water for over a day, I doubt that overwatering would be a culprit. After a week or so of being in the soil, most of the larger bottom leaves dried up and died off while the new leaves continue to grow small and slow. I'm no advanced gardener of anything but it just seems the plant is stressed, something isn't right. Or is it? Is this just the shock of transplanting and things will bounce back to normal over time? Nutrient or soil composition shock?? Afterall it was just transplanted from some random hole in the sidewalk. Just never experienced this before transplanting anything else. It doesn't look like the plant is dying nor does it seem to be thriving.
Unlike most here, all i'm trying to do is grow a plant in a pot out on my sunny balcony. Not growing with any intention of producing usable buds or anything, just to have a pretty bushy house plant for decoration and to pick leaves for salads and juicing. If I want super high quality bud, it's just easier to go to the hundreds of dispensaries around the way. Just a simple person trying to grow a weed on the porch and having a tough time!
Any tips on getting my little adopted baby thriving would be so appreciated!!
